I appreciate being real. This is not going to be an easy game. NDSU is impressive on any field and nearly impossible to beat in the dome.

so the team is staying in Vegas tonight?

Brings back a memory of '75 when SDSU played UNLV. I was on that trip (no, I wasn't a football player) and, well, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Just got back to the hotel room - - -

Impressive first half, especially by the defense. SUU made some adjustments and it seemed like most everything they did well, they did to the outside. The few times they went over the middle, they got "Jacked Up." SUU found some offense in the second half but the Jacks did a pretty good job holding them off. The only reason it was as close as it was was that long run and the fumble on the ensuing kickoff, otherwise the Jacks were the better team most of the afternoon.

It was not quite as cold as it was up high in CAS during Hobo Day, but it was pretty brisk. Stiff south wind the entire game, and except for a few stray drops, the rain held off.

On the west side (somewhat similar but much smaller than CAS) there were probably 40% Jacks fans, 60% SUU fans. Jacks folks were parents plus a few other SDSU grads, mostly from the Utah/Colorado/California area. We got reasonably loud during some of the critical defensive plays, I think.

The Utah hosts were good folks mostly--only bad sportsmanship I saw was when the Thunderbird mascot came over and squirted silly string over the Jacks fans when SUU scored their first touchdown. I did not see the mascot in the stadium after that, I wonder if he got a talking-to.

The feeling has almost returned to my fingertips . . . I took a bunch of pictures I need to sort through.

There won't be much fun in Vegas tonight. The team probably won't arrive until after 10 and I would bet the plane leaves by 9 am. Hopefully no one gets stupid and tries to go out. We don't need any big suspensions going into Fargo.

Do they offer the webcast for free? I have tests all day until 4, and can't make it to Fargo by gametime.

It would be great to be able to watch a webcast of it.

I think I saw somewhere that webcasts run about $8.

Just a note of caution.  I purchased the monthly pass ($7.95) to GoBison.com for this month to watch the Cal-Poly game and the SDSU game.  The feed was absolutely terrible today!  I don't think I watched ten minutes in a row without the video freezing.  I watched the SDSU game last year and it was fine so maybe today was just a bad day.   I'm really hoping next week is better or I'm going to be really ticked off!

Team is staying in vegas tonight. Plane leaves at 6:30 am Sunday morning vegas time.
They told the team they are leaving the hotel at 3:00 am.
It will be a short night. Hope nobody misses the flight.
They are on the commercial Allegiant flight between LV and SF.

Happy to help out. One of my sons, a former Jackrabbit runner, was far away (Pharmacy internship) and he was reading the message board to keep up with the game.

For those people who complain about CAS, Southern Utah's field looks like a high school facility.

Eccles Coliseum would be a very, very nice high school facility. It was an odd combination of very very nice and sorta rinky-dink. There were, as far as I know, only one set of bathrooms, on the south side of the grandstand. The concession stand was on the north end of the grandstand. The main stands themselves were fairly nice, with bleachers low and chairback seats higher, with a decent press box and some suites up top. The plaza on the south end, between the field and the athletic center, looked quite nice.

The light stands were very, very low, I thought--that more than anything made it feel a bit highschool-ish to me. The scoreboard was obviously nothing special.

SUU's total athletic complex was very compact and fairly nice. We didn't see much except the Centrum arena and the stadium. The softball and a baseball fields are placed between the arena and the stadium. Definitely not the same class of facilities I saw last weekend at Tennessee (obviously) but all in all I thought they were very servicable facilities for a 6,000-student D-I school.
