I'm surprised we did not sign a running back in this class. Dominique Clare it seems will be a linebacker. I also thought we might sign more players in 2007. Maybe we are taking the money/scholarships and giving more to players already on the roster.

Coach Stig has always taken care of his players, I bet a lot of current players saw a bump in their scholarships.

I thought Stig was pretty clear in the gojacks.com piece that Dominique Clare is a running back.

I am jealous. I wish Cal Poly had something like this (interview of the coach and video of each recruit). Looks like the Jacks signed a great class of student athletes.

Luedtke signs with South Dakota State

PARK FALLS — Brendan Luedtke of the Park Falls High School football team has signed a national letter of intent to enroll at South Dakota State University in the fall of 2007 and compete for the Jackrabbit football program.

“It came down to the level of play. I liked the coaching staff and the town felt like home,” Luedtke said. “I liked the players on the team. Being (Division) I-AA was another factor. We get to go all over the United States and I have a chance to go on to the next level.” . . . .

Of the 17 signees, five are from Iowa, three from Minnesota, three from Texas, two from South Dakota, and one each from Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri.

The Jackrabbits will play six home games for the 2007 season, including three against Great West Football Conference opponents, at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium in Brookings.

“They have a charter jet we fly on; that will be a neat experience,” Luedtke said. “It is definitely a big-time program. Every other school wanted me as a defensive lineman but Coach Stiegelmeier wants athletic offensive linemen.” . . . (read more)
