Great West interested in UND, USD

The Great West Football Conference took another step toward adding the University of North Dakota and the University of South Dakota to their league for the 2009 season.

Asked if 2009 is acceptable to him, UND athletic director Tom Buning said, “It’s great. It’s not perfect, but we’re not in the driver’s seat on it.”

The league’s athletic directors reviewed each school’s letters of interest during a conference call last week and advised the league to move forward.

It also mentions that the Great West is courting two teams out west. It didn't mention the team, but one would suspect San Diego and Sac St. Hopefully this will persuade any undecided schools in the Gateway to get this finished.

Sacramento State football is not in the Big Sky?? with the rest of thier sports.

They are which is confusing to me as well. The Big-Sky's website confirms that to me.

There has bee speculation, perhaps nothng more than that, the Sac. State would like to be in the Big West (all California Schools) for everything but football.  Than they would be interested in the Great West for Football.

Speculation is the key word here. We should know a lot more about the immediate future after todays meeting in St. Louis, or maybe not.
