Ebke won't lament lack of D-I interest

Jim Ebke had as close to a dream season as a football player can have.
He led Lincoln East to a dramatic turnaround, from 1-8 his junior year to 8-3 and the quarterfinals of the Class A playoffs last fall.
The Spartans weren’t eliminated until the final play of their 14-6 loss at Millard South. Patriot coach Andy Means was so sure Ebke would get into the end zone on the Spartans’ final snap, he said he’d already started thinking about defending a two-point conversion attempt that would have tied the game.
Ebke was named the first-team Super-State quarterback and an honorary captain after he rushed for 1,549 yards and passed for another 1,225, completing 50 percent of his attempts. Over his final two seasons, he compiled 4,586 total yards.
