  • Re: 2007 Recruits

Interesting we have not heard of any verbals from Minnesota or Wisconsin. The Bison and Sioux seem to be busy in both states. A big offensive lineman 6'6 332 Chad Henning of Sun Prairie had referenced that SDSU was interested. He is one of the remaining non-committs in the top 10. I'm sure we have several offers ou to recruits in both states.

I think he is in Sioux Falls, finishing up his Pharmacy degree.

He is doing his clinical rotations in completion of his pharmacy degree. Right now he is at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Hence, my interaction with him. He seems to be a very good student (like most SDSU grads) and an excellent person (like most SDSU grads). I hope I can have a positive influence on his education (he has observed my work a couple of times).

Exactly, fortunately his time at SDSU taught him how to overcome adversity. He'll make it despite my best efforts.

The verbal committments should be coming fast and furious in the next few days as recruits realize a bird in the hand is better than two in the air! That offer they were hoping for from their homestate DIA team is not coming and they better pull the trigger before someone else beats them to it and they are left out in the cold with no options.

According to Husker Preps Jacks may be close to getting a verbal from the Nebraska Gatorade Player of the year Jim Ebke who is a 6'1 195 lb quarterback from Lincoln East. He has a number of walkon offers to DIA schools including Nebraska, but is considering SDSU and Nebraska Omaha. May play a position other than Quarterback. Has visited campus and had home visits from the SDSU coaching staff.

Maybe it was his dream to go somewhere where he'd have the chance to play Upper Iowa, William Penn and Missouri-Rolla every year during his career.
                        Holy nutmeg!

                            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                            Scouts Grade: 58
                            Position Rank: WR #232
                            Considering: 1-Iowa State , 2-Notre Dame , 3-South Dakota State , 4-Montana State , 5-Montana

                            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evaluation: Cuppy is an adequate overall athlete who likely will end up as a wide receiver or safety in college. He shows decent feet and quickness and has very good hands and ball skills. He is tough and plays with a good motor. He has solid change-of-direction skills and is capable of making the first defender miss in space. On defense, he really flies around and always seems to be near the ball. Does a nice job keying the QB and timing hits. He has adequate size and will go up and compete for jump balls on offense and defense. He plays physical and likes to mix it up. He is a possession target on offense, at his best in the short-to-intermediate passing game. He will pluck on the run and is not afraid to go across the middle. He extends for the high ball and is competitive when the ball is in the air. The problem with Cuppy is that he lacks great speed and fluidness as an athlete. He is not overly explosive and is not going to consistently turn a short gain into a huge play. Overall, Cuppy has some redeeming qualities, but is better suited for the Division I-AA level or below.

                            Notes: 2005: 5 offensive TD, 5 INT

Looks like the Delano fullback. Cuppy seems to be undecided. I don't know anymore about him.
