Last time I can recall Stig being fired up was probably back when Berry was QB or around then, he was to the effect of I hate losing to those guys, yes they are a great program, but we think we can be great too and tired of losing to them to that effect.

I didn't hear this post game since I was at work but curious.

Talking to USD fans at work who are a pretty fair weather and don't follow USD much at all, but from what they saw was similar to what was discussed here, USD just wanted it more and played harder.

I've always thought it would be nice to go back and listen to this interview from game to game. Sounds like this would have been a good one to hear!

He sounded to me like he wanted to rip someone's head off during his interview with Tyler. Wow.
Edit: I am only referring to things posted here. I don't Twitter much, the stuff on that sounds waaay over the line of decency.

Thank goodness I seldom use Twitter. I think our guys gave their best. SDSU has not had a history of positive streaks

Let's try to remember not to stoop to their level as a fan base after a loss like that. I didn't see the comments but apparently people were tweeting at players and coaches, stop. The players are obviously seeing based on PSJ and Cade's tweets. Not a good look.

-The biggest takeaway from our final stretch of games is turnovers, they decided every one of those games. If we win the turnover battle, I don't think anyone on our side of the bracket can outmatch us. Our defense can only do so much on short field. I trust the offensive staff will make that a huge point going into the playoffs.
-It seemed like the hook and ladder was a little pre-mature. We still had 17 seconds, try to get some yards and let Vinny give it a rip, even from 60. I would guess the odds are better on the latter.
-Awesome that we got a seed and can get healthy and correct items these next two weeks. The last week obviously threw a wrench in the seeding, but I don't know how you could rationalize any of the teams below us to be seeded ahead of us. Name recognition and the fact we were playing shorthanded the last half of the conference season were taken into account by the committee.
-Let's get people in the stands on the 7th and do our part to help this team. Should be cheap tickets so buy some up and bring some friends.

The Jonkes need to transfer to Augie or USF if that's the kind of **** ball handling they want to exemplify.
Wow. I hope you're proud of yourself for this post.

I found it interesting that despite half the Dome being closed off because of construction, there were dozens - and probably hundreds - of empty seats in the upper rows that were open. I don't know what the attendance was reported to be, but the Dome was nowhere near full. Not even close.

It just is what it is. It was bound to happen at some point, and it shouldn't have happened yesterday. But they just played like they wanted it more.

It's time to not worry about USD anymore until 10/10/2020. That would be a good time to start a new 19-year streak.

Excuse me for interrupting the doomsday negativity that dominates this thread to point out that a few Jacks had really good games on Saturday. Mikey Daniel and Christian Rozenboom among them. Also, despite the Jacks' very costly turnovers, without QB Austin Simmons, the Coyotes would have had no chance.

One thing I'll add: Given the parallels with 2015, we'll learn a lot about how much the program has improved. They felt sorry for themselves and came out flat against Montana in 2015. They could very likely be faced with that exact same situation on Saturday. Hiw they respond will say a lot about lessons learned from the program in 4 years.

But just a few short years ago, we all would have been pretty stoked to be playing a first round game again in November. Obviously, we had it all in front of us yesterday and we wasted it. Our road just got a lot tougher and we probably aren't going to make the type of run that we wanted to in the post season. But, we've now made the playoffs 8 years in a row. And top 5 program or not, some years are going to be tougher than others and this is one of our tougher years. I'm thankful that a year with this much adversity still has us playing in the field of 24.

Losing to those rat bastards sucks, and I'd be lying if I didn't say it feels like are one step behind the truly elite programs. But at the end of the day, no matter what expectations are, we cheer for this team, and this team still has shot in the post season to win some games. The negative energy around here is understandable, but unnecessary. If you think the team doesn't read this thread or feel that negativity, you're lying to yourself. Time to forget this game and focus on next week.
Excellent post. I completely understand criticizing the team for turnovers and some of the coaching decisions throughout the season, but I don't understand the vitriol for individual players posted by a couple of folks.

Also, yesterday solved my dilemma about what to get my parents' dog for Christmas. Looks like he'll have one of these to eviscerate. Hopefully he starts by "amputating" the toy's hideous left paw.
