Very sad news. From what I have seen, Clayton and another gentleman stepped into a situation outside a Nashville bar at 2:30am where a man was trying to take advantage of an intoxicated female. Clayton and the other guy did not know the male or female involved, but tried doing the right thing, and got stabbed to death in the process by the male. Nothing good happens at that time of the night/morning...

Clayton is the brother of 49ers (and former Iowa) QB CJ Beatherd, and brother of Tucker Beathard who is a somewhat famous country music singer.

Sad news out of Nashville. The quarterback we saw in early September, Clayton Beathard, was murdered early Saturday morning in an fight outside of a bar.

LIU had a bye this weekend. They play Sacred Heart to open their first NEC schedule this coming Saturday. LIU is picked 8th and SH is picked to finish 2nd. I will be interested to see if LIU can do better than that 8th place pre-season selection.

Not associated? I'd say, IMHO, that basically the same people running both conferences is definitely associated at a fairly significant level.

The MVFC is not associated with the MVC and they are separate conferences.

The MVFC is not affiliated to the MVC in any way, let alone run by it, outside of having members who play their Olympic sports in the MVC. It’s actually its own separate conference, who shares a commissioner with the Pioneer League (less than ideal IMO). But my point is it doesn’t matter that the MVFC is an afterthought to the MVC because the only control or power the MVC has over the MVFC is through its members in other sports. It doesn’t run the MVFC. The name change was a bad idea IMHO.

The MVFC is not affiliated to the MVC in any way, let alone run by it, outside of having members who play their Olympic sports in the MVC. Minor rant, but can't our conference do a little more research on our game from Saturday. On the MVFC website they refer to our opponent as LI Post and use the Long Island Brooklyn Blackhawks logo. They changed their name and logo back in May.

The MVFC, as an organization, leaves a lot to be desired. Their social media/marketing/etc. aren't great. I also think we're the only D1 conference in America that hosts their annual media days via telephone...

I have definitely seen a pattern with these big kids with wrestling backgrounds having success. We definitely going after these recruits and its working. Stig has always loved multi sport athletes.
