Was just talking on the phone with my dad, and after discussing upcoming game, he mentioned that one of the gals at the gas station he frequents told him that she made the mistake of hitting a jackrabbit near Eagle Butte.

While this alone is tragic, she added that one of the jackrabbit's bones ended up puncturing her tire. Proof that not only should folks "fear the ears," they should also fear the femurs.

We joked that that person who told her the flat was due to a "skeletal puncture" was probably a Jacks fan trying to start an urban legend.

Keep and eye for jackalope horns also, they can also puncture a tire.

They are pretty quick and hard to catch so I've been told.
