I’m gunna say it. Taryn shouldn’t have attended that damn award ceremony.

Football wise....Glad someone said it.
Life experience wise, it was probably a good thing, but man, that stuff needs to be scheduled differently, IMO. But ya, wasn't he like 7th or something? Why bother?

Re: GDT: @Kennesaw State Owls (playoffs-quarterfinals)
Tis not a day to be throwing the ball. Hopefully we won’t need to do much more of that.
I like what I’m seeing from the defense. I don’t think they’re going to beat us by grinding it out, it’s going to take some big outside runs that get yardage real quick. Passing is just as risky for them.
Meh...the trip isnt what caused him to come out slow.
I'm not going to fault a senior for accepting an invite to an award that he worked 4 years to be considered for
I mean, I’m just talking from a football standpoint. I don’t think he’s not focused, me first, or anything like that. He worked his ass off for that. But as a qb missing a day or two from game week of the quarterfinals, from a football standpoint, that’s a big deal.

Disagree. Taryn is a fourth-year starter. At this stage of his career, he benefits more from a day or two of rest and video review than from another day of standing around a practice field. Besides, these guys are students, first, and athletes second. Taryn earned the opportunity to participate in the ceremony with his family and coach. I don't think we should make him feel the least bit guilty about it.
Re: GDT: @Kennesaw State Owls (playoffs-quarterfinals)
Do you really think Taryn went to the ceremony and didn’t look at any film while he was gone? Which is exactly what he probably would’ve been doing if he stayed in brookings. I would almost guarantee you he spent most of his down time studying for this game.
