I'm starting to see Junior Day invites pop up on Twitter. Looks like the days they will have juniors on campus are January 26th, March 15th, 22nd, and 29th.

Typically they cast a really wide net on these days.

Starting to see a lot more recruiting activity going on with the recent Junior Days. Seems like a pretty talented in-state class this year. Here's who SDSU has offered so far from SD.

Grey Zabel DE/OL - Pierre (USD, NDSU offers..his brother was drafted by the Brewers but chose to pitch and play QB at Augie.)

Not sure that he has narrowed it down. Even if he has for football schools, he has said he will choosing his sport this summer. So things are definitely not just down to three schools.

My understanding is it is down to UNL and UW with Ore on the outside looking in. I thought the decision to move on from wrestling after HS was made a long time ago.

I don�t know if you are familiar with Dakota Grappler. It is the biggest wrestling forum and is widely used around South Dakota. His dad has said on there that he will wrestle through his senior year, and that the decision on which sport to do collegiately will be made this summer.

I spoke to a good friend of mine that is a die hard wresting fan and was quite familiar with Dakota Grappler. He claims it is well known Nash is done with wrestling after this summer. I didn't go to the site myself, so take it for what it is worth.

However, I did read Parker Gabriel's article in the Lincoln Journal Star about Nash's official visit to Nebraska. I won't post the whole article, but here is the applicable portion:

After the folkstyle nationals, TrackWrestling pegged Hutmacher as the No. 8 overall wrestling prospect in the nation for 2020 and the top-ranked heavyweight. He has the chance to continue to back those rankings up as the summer goes on and then will wrestle for Chamberlain again next winter. He’s never lost since he’s been in high school – Hutmacher’s been wrestling varsity since he was in the seventh grade – and will shoot for a fourth state title next year.

That, though, will be the end of his wrestling career, he says. He’s planning on focusing solely on football once he goes to college.
“Obviously I’m going to miss the sport of wrestling a lot, but my theory on it is if I really want to be a really good football player, I’m going to have to kind of dedicate to my time to that,” Hutmacher said.

Hutmacher already naturally weighs nearly 300 pounds and part of the difficulty would be continuing to put on good weight for football compared with the weight limitations in wrestling.

“That would be a challenge and then just the wear and tear that would be on your body if you tried to do both sports in college,” Hutmacher said.

I would guess that is his Dad playing the recruiting game. The more buzz there is, the more options there will be. It can't hurt to keep your options open or at least make it seem like they are open. Let schools truly compete for Nash. You don't walk onto a car lot and tell the salesman you love everything about a car and pay full price for it. You gotta play the game. And let's be real, no FBS football coach is going to let their stud lineman lose 40-50 pounds every year so he can wrestle.
