It's 9:16 am and no one has started a game day thread. Ignoring the game isn't going to make it go away. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm at the Unidome. A dangerous UNI team trying to lock a playoff spot is waiting to crush the Jackrabbits' hope for a seed and at least a share of the MVFC title. A year ago the final game of the season messed up the Jack's playoff path. Will that happen this year?
No. The sterile, windless dome is an ideal setting for the passing attack to excel. The running game will be in high gear too. Jacks 42, Panthers 17. -

Each of the last three meetings have been decided by a field goal; SDSU earned a 37-34 double-overtime home victory during the 2013 season, followed by a 31-28 victory in Cedar Falls during the 2014 campaign. Northern Iowa claimed a 10-7 victory at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium on Oct. 24, 2015, in the most recent matchup between the two squads.
Everyone remember last year's UNI game?. We elected to not kick a field goal to tie the game and we got stuffed on the 'wildcat'. I heard Stig at this summer's West River Jacks gathering, tell a hilarious story about that decision. After the game, it was clear to Stig that everyone had an opinion, of course. Let's do this Jacks. We've have a history of not stepping up in the "important" games when it comes to the playoffs. Lets put that to rest like the drought against the Bison.
Come out focused, put them in a hole quicky, and step on their throats. Don't allow them to think they are in the game.
Do the Jacks need a dominating performance to leapfrog UND?-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.Comment

It couldn't hurt. UNI is actually ranked ahead of us in Sagarin rating (76 to our 90) because of how narrow the point spread has been in their losses, so if the committee looks at that, a large margin of victory could help us a ton.Originally posted by SoDakJack View Post
Quite frankly, if we beat UNI today we should be ahead of both UND and Richmond according to the unbiased polls (aka: the computer ratings).
Coming into this weekend, Massey has SDSU at #6, Richmond at #11, and UND at #12, while Sagarin (ranks FBS and FCS together) has SDSU at #90, Richmond at #106, and UND at #129.

IMHO, Jacks truly have a team that can make it to a National Title this year. But, Jacks will need to show that outstanding ability each game from today to Frisco.
A Dunne led Panthers team is more dangerous team than a Bailey led team. Jacks O-line will need to continue their domination of defensive team today. This game will turn on how Jacks D does in containing UNI O.
Looking forward to a GREAT JACKRABBIT SWEEP of sports today (SDSU over Minn Wrestling), SDSU WBB over Montana, SDSU MBB over Wyoming (think Daum's folks will be slightly conflicted?), but most importantly, THIS UNI WIN!!!!Comment

I think Stig has this little incident embedded in his mind as I recall he told this same story at the Difference Makers Meeting the following week. It did hurt and if the wildcat had worked. Well, we are officially back in the top-10 this week. Will the jinx live on?
I'd like to see TC be a little more accurate with his passes today. There's no question he is not throwing the ball like he was early in the season. Maybe playing in doors will help out. The problem is that he has to do it against the UNI defense....Comment
