From what I've seen, just as many Bison fans/posters and third-party posters saying it was not a dirty play. I expected the outrage to be much worse, honestly.

If this is true, that's a great read by TC to realize how the defender was playing Jake and to not throw the fade. Also an incredible adjustment by Jake as he would have been preparing to go up and get the ball. My guess is that it's something they've practiced and talked about, where depending on how the defense is playing it's an option to throw the stop route instead of the fade.

They were cool about it after that.
Yeah,I had to explain it to a couple people with me too. They thought we needed to be up three so the Bison couldn't kick a field goal...with one second left. derp

That's a pretty damn good call by our coaching staff. I'll give credit.

That teams have to prepare for. A few times a game now and it's a huge weapon. Think how much more open the passing game can be if they are worried tc will run it. The going for it was great. But really stig should have ran it the first time for sure. Line up under center. That like football 101. I was actually hoping to see something like the wildcat look and run a Florida Tebow fake run and just peel the tight end over the top.
I was really happy to see him minimizing contact. Getting out of bounds and sliding to protect himself. He took what was given and then got down.

You don't think we can execute a qb keeper under center? There are a lot that go in to plays being able to work. But something like that should be in every teams PlayBook. As ndsu showed its hard to stop.

My thoughts too. Keep him healthy. But this didn't seem to lead to as many hits as the zone option read. Still don't want him running a lot. Other qbs in the league that are runners are getting pretty banged up.

You know what's really crazy? If Jake drops the routine TD pass with 1 second left, we would be hearing many of the same complaints now. Crazy how thin the line is between good coaching and bad coaching.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't get to watch the first half as I was otherwise occupied. I have to be honest, I didn't know what play calls they ran or even how many times that had gone for it on 4th until I read Zimmer's article yesterday. I retract my statement about them needing to be able to get 2 yards on 4th & goal if they didn't run for it.
