One of the Saturday morning moderator chores is making sure a game day thread is started. It's nearly 10:00 a.m. and no GDT?!!

Prediction: South Dakota State University Air Force 48, Middle Eastern rabbit-chasing dogs 10.




I was surprised the Air National Guard F-16s didn't do a flyover prior to the Western Illinois game -- after all, it was Military Appreciation Day. And then I remembered why: tough to compete with the SDSU Air Force.

The Salukis are 2-2 on the season: 2 wins at home and 2 road losses.

Loss at Florida Atlantic, 30-38
Win hosting SEMO, 30-22
Win hosting Murray State, 50-17; and
Loss at UNI, 21-42.

Here's a link to the official Saluki website for notes on today's game from the Saluki Sports Info Dept. (hint: if you read the "Media Notes" put out by the home team, you'll know about 75% of what the ESPN3 announcers will say during the game. Therefore, you can turn the sound off on the ESPN3 production and listen to Tyler M's call on WNAX. Usually the radio is ahead of the ESPN3 show so it's like getting a replay on everything.)

Need to continue the roll they started last week. Need to get a stop on defense early and then convert to points and the landslide could be on! My prediction is the run game finds its groove this week because the pass game is so prevelant.

ESPN3 picture quality is very good (casting it up to the big screen) but the audio is as noted by others: Sideline noise and PA announcer drown out the broadcasters.

I'm about ready to off the ESPN audio and switch to WNAX, which is at least a play and a half ahead of ESPN video.
