  • Re: Playoffs

Interesting stat from AGS. Since 2009 at least one of the teams in the national championship game beat the Jacks during their season or the playoffs.

That means we lose way to much.

Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. Sure, I'm on board with the frustration of losing games we feel we should be winning. And I have very high expectations. But at the same time, it's not like we are losing in the playoffs to some schmucks out of the OVC. We are losing to the eventual champions or runner ups. The ridiculous negativity on here surrounding this program is nauseating. People are pissing and moaning like we are 5-6 every year. We have a damn good team again this year, the highest ranked we have ever had. We need to get past this head hanging whiny **** and move on. We lost and screwed ourselves out of a seed. Welp, can't change it. But now we are back in the playoffs with as good of a shot as anybody in our bracket to make it to Frisco outside of NDSU because they are at home. I like our chances agains the bison in Fargo over anybody else. There I having expectations, and then there is hanging your head and having a bitch fit tantrum like a spoiled twelve year old with no character or mental toughness. Good grief. Half of the posts on here reek of a "well the seasons over cause we lost to WIU and missed a seed." What a loser attitude. And those people who do that come at people who have a bit of a positive outlook a having low expectations and being satisfied, and then compare the attitude to the fans of the team up north. News flash. The bison have meltdowns when they lose, but they don't kick the dirt with this I guess the seasons over when does basketball start attitude. Good lord, if you want to be like that go follow the basketball team now. It's just a pathetic look. And this is coming from the guy who won't talk to people for hours after we lose a game because I'm so pissed. This team has the ability to make a run. A damn deep one at that. Find me one other team that is a 6 seed or lower that anybody wouldn't rather face than the Jacks. This season isn't a loss because we missed out on a damn seed. Just makes what we hope to happen harder to reach. Did anybody really think there was any way we end up in Frisco ever without having to play the bison at some point along the way? With how the committee works, do you really think that is going to be a truly plausible scenario? Come on. Sack up and have a championship attitude yourselves as well. Go ahead and point out reasons you don't like our chances. Go ahead and point out bad coaching decisions. Those are more than valid. But this underlying tone of the season is over and is a failure already and we lose all the time is getting ri-goddamn-diculous. We have a shot at 9 wins for the first time since the 60's, and if we pull off the next two we have the first ten win season ever. Not to mention this team was ranked the highest ever in the history of the program, but somehow, after losing the talent we did, people are painting this season as an utter failure. Good grielf.

          Ok, I'm done now.

It had to be a clip with a dang bear ripping Luke Wilson's arm off?

To cancel that bad juju, I predict an epic 34-24 Jacks victory against the Grizz.

Lol, I didn't even connect the bear in the video to our opponent. I just read what he typed and remembered that part of Anchorman. Sorry, if there was a different clip of a jackrabbit ripping off Luke Wilson's arm, I would certainly post it. :P

I do know that all the FCS and D2 playoffs for all sports are financed out of the Big Dance money, and I suspect a decision made by those in charge of handing out the bucks from the big dance. When we blame the MVFC commissioner and the committee we may be blaming the wrong people.
If the NCAA got their act together on a 16 team FBS playoff they could seed every other playoff through D3, flying lower seeds on charters, and payoff the national debt.

How about that? That's a thought.

We live in a world where the Iowa Hawkeyes are 12-0 so I don't see a reason that we can't go win this whole thing!

Just read a "story" on three Griz players getting arrested on Halloween night for burglary then getting the charges dropped to criminal trespassing so they could stay on the team. I heard the justice system out there is easy to manipulate or get charges dropped. Glad the criminals (starting OT and LB) can play today. Be proud Griz fans of your boys!

I'm not griz lover by any stretch but research what happened before you make comments like that. The were out late and wandered into a building under construction that they thought nobody was in and were just hanging around inside waiting for a ride. The other part of the building was inhabited, so when they heard voices they called the cops. Nothing was stolen or broken, just dumb college kids doing dumb things.

Now the "story" that thumper_76 just told is hilarious. Players out late in a home under construction, afraid of voices, wow. Players that play college football on Saturday normally get treatments, eat, and rest after games because they are exhausted. I guess the Grizs recover different, wandering around late night or should I say trespassing in construction buildings late night. I doubt your story, the individuals involved and the local police say it all but you go ahead and believe it. Next!

I think the other inhabitants called the cops when they heard the players voices. That said it all sounds goofy, as the saying goes, " nothing good happens after midnight".

Or is it, "if you can't accomplish it by midnight, it ain't going to happen. Be a gentleman and take her home".
