  • Re: Playoffs

I just bought 4 tickets to the NDSU vs SDSU/Montana playoff game at gobison.com. Tickets in seats that are not held by season ticket holders are available for sale to the general public now.

What if we lose in Montana? I guess you wont have any problem selling them on Bisonville. Way to be positive. I hope you get to use those tickets and the Jacks are playing.

Exactly, if we lose I would think I would have no problem selling them.

Just skimmed their board. Many upset they have to try to run the MVFC gauntlet. Many angry W IL got in over UND. Most feel the Jacks will be a challenge but ultimately a win. Even a few requesting a Mariani return.

Let's hope we go in and put our foot on their throats and don't let off until the final whistle.

I can't complain. Figured it would be something like this, when team lost yesterday.

Ridiculous that all MVFC schools on 1 side, but not unexpected, either.

              It's a BOHICA bracket, that's for sure.

Doesn't matter this years offense can' move ball score against good teams and don't have coaching staff to win big games at this level.

NCAA is loaded with money. Saving money by regional football playoff games is a poor excuse by the ncaa. Seed all 24 teams, let them travel anywhere to play and determine the champion by playing football and not financially. Time for a change and not worry about the expense of a football playoff.

                    This x 1000.

Considering Augie traveled to CA and USF traved go Arkansas, they're not worried about regionalization at the D2 level. Somebody please tell me the NCAA isn't picking up their travel bills??

Rank em 1-24 and get after it. Hell...drop it back to 16, stay away from Thanksgiving Saturday and go from there if you want to save a little $$

What's the advantage of this from the NCAA's perspective? No one besides a few dedicated fans actually care. The school's have no power to change anything, and this strategy makes them more money. What does the NCAA gain by switching things up?

What does the NCAA have to gain by holding(paying for)championships in golf, track and field, softball and every other non-revenue generating sport and sub-D1 championship. Heck might as well get out of all of them then if you want to make that argument for them.

                          You didn't answer my question.

And to answer yours, the reason they don't cut those things is because it would be hard to justify. It's hard to just completely get rid of things. They already hold the FCS playoffs. What benefit is it to them to change it from how it is?

Does Patty Viverito do anything to benefit this conference? Just a few years ago the Valley is getting two teams in the playoffs and can't catch a break there. Now after the teams take it into their own hands and whip the crap out of the rest of the country the conference gets hosed in the bracket. Where does she come into play on this? It's apparent she has zero say with that committee ever.

^this, anything we get as a FB conference we've fought hard for and proved why. It's nice that the committee realizes a 6 win valley team would more than likely win most other conferences and put them in. But this though is a screw the pooch on her side that we are all on the same side of the bracket. Get in their ears and demand some separation. While I'm on this rant the auto bid for the pioneer is a joke. If the Ivy and the SWAC aren't involved why does the pioneer. Is it for the one sacrificial lamb? Has any pioneer team in the last 10years won a 1st rd game. Ridiculous!

What benefit did the NCAA have to create a 4 team playoff in FBS? One could argue that it's just another money grab, but I would argue that it's what the universities and people wanted, and it provides one true champion. If you apply those two factors to the FCS playoffs and wanted to make them better because the people and universities wanted it, and it would provide one true champion, they would get rid of regionalization, seed 1-24 and watch it all unfold. Same concept.
