Its amazing the the amount of P5 schools that have flocked to the Midwest looking for "the beef" and seems that the local big schools are slow or behind in there own back yard. It seems we can find great athletes in our normal recruiting in areas but the the beef is be plucked out of the Midwest. The times they are a changing. Good coach Jackson in a very competive state of NE

Saw a new video shared on Twitter about the upcoming football camps. Slade, Nelson and Whitsell talk about their recruiting journey and how attending the elite camp helped them. I believe the last few years a majority of signees are players who have attended camp so if you know someone interested they need to go to camp. Recruiting is a two way street and just playing in the fall and expecting to get offered isn't the best way.

Recruiting is a two-way street - no doubt about it. It is one thing for a coach to show interest but I'm guessing coaches really like when a recruit takes initiative and makes contact. Shows genuine interest on the part of the recruits. And in this day and age, the recruit needs to make that contact - not the parent!!!

Updating the recruiting profiles on page 1 and I was looking at one recruit that Kemo shared last week. Noah Vedral from Wahoo, NE is an interesting prospect. Excellent athlete with strong family heritage.

Noah's dad Mike and his uncles John and Mark are all former Gregory Gorillas and walk-on's for the Huskers. Mike was a TE for the Huskers in the early 90's. His uncle Mark had the biggest impact on the Husker program as a middle linebacker who was second on the team in tackles when they made their last Rose Bowl appearance in 2002. His grandpa on his mother's side is the football coach at Bishop Neumann, one of the premier Class C football programs in Nebraska. I'm not sure we are focusing on Noah as a QB, but he would be a heck of a weapon as a dual-threat QB. I believe that is his preferred position as he has received coaching from several consultants, including Bill Cunerty from California. I'm guessing most schools would look at him as a safety, where his pedigree and outstanding knowledge of the game would be an asset.

Not sure if we have a strong shot at him as more FBS schools are starting to offer him. However, his Gregory heritage, Dan Jackson's recruiting, and the growing success of the program has us near the top of his list. Check out this story from Hail Varsity's web site.
