His new wife Megan was a nurse anesthesia student here in Yankton. They had such a bright future together. My heart felt condolences to Megan and to DJ's family as well as the families of the other young men that lost their life in the tragic accident.

Well done obit. DJ's loss will be felt throughout the north central counties area, and especially in Gettysburg. He was the kind of guy that figured out a way to stay in SD, and it's that breed that will continue to make SD viable. As I'm more in JD's era, my knowledge of DJ is only what he brought to the football field. The obit really turned him into a really great guy that brought much living to his shorten life. Prayers for DJ's family, and especially his recent bride.

After reading the obituary, I am speechless. What a wonderful person whose life was shorten. You almost sense the Almighty had other plans for him other than life on earth.
