I believe we have to move this prospect to a new thread that has not been started - 2016 Recruit List. Jared is a 6'4" 240lb, Sophomore. He plays for a C1 program not at the top of the recruiting circles in Lincoln, so this is a noteworthy offer! If this guy is physical enough, I'm curious what kind of DE he would make. This post lists him as a TE, but TV lists him as a QB/LB on his tweet. He is also a nephew of Jay, so that is a nice pedigree and connection to work with.

Jared has got some size to him 6'4" 230 and 4.7 in the forty yard dash. Wonder what the story is with Nebraska? Does not say what year he is in High School. I assume he is a senior and will be reporting for fall camp.

I'm curious, when was the last time we offered to an underclassman? It happens in basketball on a regular basis, but I can't remember when it last happened in football.

Interesting note: Every highlight from that Hudl video of his junior year was a touchdown, which I guess one can do when you score 63 TDs in one season.

I think he would fit in well. After all, we are the home of kerblastification. If you score that many TDs in a season, there was plenty of kerblastification going on.

I've updated the lists on page 1. Take a look and see if I've missed anything.

Couple of notes:

I had not noticed that we had an offer out to Chase Vinatieri before, but Rivals has him listed with an offer from us.

I like the list of lineman on both sides of the ball! I don't expect to get some of the O-linemen that we've offered, because there are some outstanding recruits that will likely go to major conferences. However, on paper (on-line), there are a number of really stout young men that we have interest in that have yet to receive offers.

The defensive linemen are really solid. I'd love to get Holtorf out of Seward, NE. That guy is a beast and will likely consider major conference offers. If the Huskers would offer, he'd be gone. Brian Arp out of Kearney, NE has not received an offer from us but he may follow another Bearcat to Ohio University who offered him this week. Arp arguably had a better year than Holtorf last year and played against some elite talent in Nebraska the last 2 years. I do know that Dan Jackson was in central Nebraska on Monday talking to area recruits and the kids like what they've been hearing.

The running backs we've offered are in the cookie cutter mold: Allen, Johnson and Overstreet are all 5'11" 195 lbs, fast, tough, and productive.
