Line backer Dallas Brown (Redshirt freshman from Tucson) was named MVFC Defensive Player of the Week.

In his first career start, Brown intercepted a pair of passes and was credited with six tackles in South Dakota State’s 34-26 win over Southeastern Louisiana. Both of Brown’s interceptions came on Southeastern’s last two offensive possessions; the first interception he returned 52 yards for a touchdown with 2:25 to play. The second interception also came near midfield with just over a minute remaining, sealing the Jackrabbit victory.
Brown was moved from safety to linebacker midway through fall camp.
Brown got the start due to Charles Elmore's injury.
