About Sumner, he definitely missed a couple of open recievers in that second half. I recall at least one ball sailing high over an open receiver, reminiscent of many scenes last year. He was 2 of 9 for 29 yards passing in the second half. That is Tebow-like and the fact that it happened when Zenner is in the backfield is stunning. However, if Schneider would not have dropped that easy 3rd down pass late in the 4th quarter, we probably would not have spent nearly so much time discussing the way this game ended.

I'm looking forward to dicussing a new opponent!
My favorite part may be Shoff running down the field looking for someone to block, not seeing anyone, and at the last minute diving into the endzone with Zenner. Hilarious.

Also, Hubert makes an excellent downfield block to seal that thing. Great seeing the WRs downfield picking up big blocks. On the condensed game tape on gojacks you will see a lot of that, especially out of #23.

Was at the Alerus Saturday. Literally all things considered I feel good about where SDSU is at and where we could be heading. ....Being in Grand Forks certainly had an effect on the game. Like UNDs catch up mode and SDSUs relaxation. When access the Jacks when they were going hard and playing to win, there aren't many concerns. ...Other than who got the seperated shoulder and concussion ?

I believe the injuries were to Elmore and Sherlock....not sure which one got which injury.

Coach Stig said this. Don't know the extent of either's injuries and both were uncertain for this weekends game.

Crazy sense of balance Zach has,as the 2nd guy went low for his feet and dang near tripped him up.In the replay, look how far forward of his center of balance he was,yet he recovered and never seemed to miss a step.

Stig said, on his radio show, that they thought both would play Saturday.

Sherlock had the concussion, so I guess Elmore had the shoulder injury.

I watched the condensed tape and I saw more downfield blocks to spring ZZ for the long runs from 81 and 83.

It must be nice to know that if you put a good block on someone downfield it won't be for nothing,ZZ will be there to use it,more often than not.

Perhaps. I guess we're lucky to have great blocking out of our WRs.

I watched the entire game re-play on midco.I really hate the prevent defense now more than ever. All it accomplished is it killed the intensity of our guys and fired up the intensity of the no names like adding gasoline to a fire that was about to die.Allowing them to make play after play just stoked the fire in those guys.

We blew an opportunity to crush the no-names spirit in that game, and we denied ourselves the opportunity to make some big defensive plays by taking advantage of the fact they were running out of time and were getting desparate.Normally that translates into your opponent taking chances and the team leading taking advantage.Except in the prevent defense. Our guys finally kindled a little intensity back when they made the interception to end the game. That game was too close for comfort,no matter what anyone says.I think the same thing happened in the game no one wants to mention in 2009.

Glad we won and time to move on and defeat our next opponent.

Is this replay available to non-Midco? I didn't get to watch it in NYC (where working) and would love the chance to see the game.

I watched the second half on DVR last night. The freshman QB showed some poise but also got lucky a couple of times. UND's receivers are big, quick and fast they will be a tough match-up for a lot of teams. That said, they have no running game and teams should be able to key on the pass.

The Jackrabbit passing game was not sharp in the beginning with about 5 mins left in the 3rd quarter. Sumner looked tentative when he had time and seemend to audible into plays that didn't have a chance. The UND defense seemed to sense just how tentative the Jackrabbits were becoming and fed off that. I expect Sumner to play much better going forward.

Last thought, I may be wrong but it seemed like UND'd top 4 receivers were all better than even the Jackrabbits best and I think Schneider is pretty good. It seems like our recruiting has not focused on finding enough DI quality WR's. Tyrel Kool was recruited for RB and Moss was a BB player. I think our lack of talent and depth at WR is a glaring deficiency for the team.
