Question: why did we throw when we're trying to run the clock out and they can't stop us? That's a serious question. No reason to throw on 1st down inside our 10 with 5 minutes to go.

I know I saw Zenner, in a huddle close up, breathing really hard, hoped they would pass and give him time to get his breath back. They did.We worked ZZ really hard today, and the OL.Wonder if we could have mixed in some short pass plays a little to give those guys a little rest.I think the OL was gassed the 4th Quater.Cam Jones has to be utilized more (TE) in my opinion.UND on the other hand scored quickly,so their OL were a lot fresher in the 4th quater than our OL were.

Punt return the last couple of years has been flat out embarrassing. It's gotten to the point where I hope we don't even attempt to catch the ball....let it roll and then hand it off to ZZ.

Yes, SELA played even with TCU for a half, being even at 14 til last seconds of half. The SELA team watched last year would have been down 30-35 pts to TCU. Also blew out SEMO in their first game. This is a much improved SELA team, and it's thems that's a Lions!

2-0 is bright. I like that. But there are a lot of issues to address before SELA, who is a much better team than UND.

Reflecting a little bit, and it didn't end pretty, but it was still a W.

App State dropped their 2nd in a row, this time to an inferior team, I'm just glad we got out of there with a W.

                That Hardin guy is legit.

edit - Also, I'm not sold on SELA. Didn't they get nailed by the NCAA earlier this year for something and lose some schollies? I expect we'll handle them by double digits. (you know, like I expected us to handle UND by double digits.)

Well, that was a pretty embarrassing fourth quarter. Shouldn't have to sweat out a game that should've been won handily.

The only good thing about this game is that it will encourage our team to refocus without putting a 1 in the loss column. We have a good team with the potential to be great, but we do need to figure out a few things before we earn our current ranking.

What the heck happened? At least the jacks got the "W" Hopefully no injuries? Only bad thing about this game is now 'the team with no name' thinks they can play, moral victory, etc etc... Man, I do NOT like them (und) UGGHHHH!

Our typical "get a big lead (35-14) then play nice guy" gameplan. It worked so well at Montana a few years ago, you know.

Stig mentioned postgame a separated shoulder and a concussion...didn't say who.

So some friends asked if we wanted to go downtown sf to germanfest so we went. Got me out of painted missed most of the first half but got to drink beer and eat german food so figured a decent trade off. Anyway maybe I am in a good mood or a glasses half full kind of a day but what I did watch and what I took away was...

1st ZZ tied his own school record for rushing yards in a game and was amazing again.

2nd the defense made a play when it had to to seal the win.

3rd the defense held the opposition to under 25 yards rushing

4th was our big problem last week was dumb penalties and this week we played much smarter and it showed.

And finally the most important thing I took away was we went 1-0.

So if others want to get their panties in a bunch because we played a team that wouldn't give up, with some skilled play makers who made some huge difficult catches, and had a young QB keep stepping up to throw even after getting hit many times. in a dome which we have never proven to be a great dome team, and to have 3 huge games coming up and if there was ever such thing as a trap game on our schedule this was it, and if getting a win where the team did some awesome things and a player tying his school record for yards and setting his career record for TD in a game and where many players were adjusting to new roles after our really first competitive team we played this year. and apparently most fans focus on some things that I for one will trust the coaching staff will get corrected.

I think the only think I am disappointed about tonight is this boards response\reaction to a jackrabbit victory.

There's issues every week before the next game. I have confidence that our coaches will take care of that. The next 4 weeks are gonna be awesome. I have the next 4 weekends off from work. Not sure in my 35 working years ive ever done that. Im pumped.

Your positive outlook makes me think you had too much German beer downtown.

I think the negative reaction is related to not putting a team away that was clearly inferior, which UND currently is. Montana is still an open wound. Hell, 2003 UND still haunts my thoughts.

I think most of us know you are right, but we (read: I) just wanted a blowout simply because it was UND... a former ncc foe whom we were inferior to for many years, before we moved up and surpassed them.
