According to GopherHole.com (no relation to my moniker), SDSU has 3 offers out for Minnesota players. Austin Noble and Greg Menard were both previously listed as showing interest. The new recruit to the list is Tim Gordon, DB from Cretin-Derham Hall. Hall is listed at 6'0" 170 and apparently has offers from SDSU, North Dakota, and Colgate. The following was posted on their web site.

(Updated 5/20) Attended US Army All American combine and Addidas Showcase. Had made unofficial visits to Minnesota, Notre Dame, Western Michigan, Iowa State, and Wisconsin. In 9 games, had 37 tackles (27 solo), 7 TFLs, 5 INTs, 18 passes broken up, and 1 fumble recovery. Has a 3.4 GPA. 2012 Video Highlights

I've added a number of recruits to the various lists and have had to use 3 posts to fit the players in. I'm in a quandry over some of the potential recruits and it gives me so much respect for how Mitchell had to dig to keep the list manageable and as accurate as possible in the many years he managed the lists. One issue I have is some recruits are listed as receiving offers from us and a plethora of other high profile schools and if they are seriously listed as Jackrabbit recruits or if Rivals has us confused with the other SDSU.

For example, Brendan Brosnan, a 6'6" 274 lb. tackle out of Park Ridge, IL. Brendan fits with our typical recruiting base, but he has 19 offers including offers from both SDSU's. 10 of the offers are from FBS schools including some of the biggest conferences. While I'd love to get Brendan to play in Brookings based on his information posted on Rivals, it makes me wonder how accurate these Rival listed offers are. I'd appreciate any perspectives that board posters could share.

I would say that he does have an offer......alot of times FCS schools like us offer FBS guys that we have no real chance of as a formality of the recruiting process. It could be for a plethora of reasons from SDSU trying to get inroads to a high school and his coach to our coaches just trying to establish a relationship with a guy like Brosnan just in case he decides to transfer someday down the road. Interesting prospect from Lakeville North HS, (Minnesota). Bronson Bruneau is receiving interest from some big time programs like Stanford and Minnesota as a long snapper. The Jackrabbits have been interested in him, but I'm not sure for what position besides as a long snapper. The following was from the GopherHole.com web site, where they interviewed Bronson's high school coach - Brian Vossen. (GopherHole.com is not associated in anyway with my moniker.)

"I think right now at that level, it is just projected that he could play a position. He is 6-5 about 215 or 220 and has all the features that would make you think that he could grow into something big, but the Division I’s seem like they would recruit him as a long snapper only and then depending on how he grew and got stronger would depend on whether a position was possible. South Dakota State came in and they had their linebacker, who was their long snapper. They were a school that looked at him. Stanford said that they only have a long snapper, but as I believe Stanford’s long snapper is not even a scholarship athlete."

Mick Stoltenberg, a defensive end recruit from Gretna, NE just received an offer from the Huskers yesterday. Husker Sports Nightly reported on their radio show last night that Stoltenberg was put through a series of drills at 5 different positions at the Husker camp during the last couple of days and Pelini's crew offered him after that. It will be difficult for other schools to trump Nebraska's offer. His recruiting has blown up early this summer.

Stoltenberg would have been a very physical DE that could have developed into other positions on both sides of the ball. I'm still hoping we can get Harrison Phillips from Millard West in Omaha as a DE.

The thing with Rivals is almost all the information comes directly from the recruit themselves. Many recruits either aren't 100% honest or don't exactly know what an offer is. Is it a take it or leave it offer? Is it a grey-shirt offer, or is it a true offer. It gets even more confusing with FCS because there are part scholarships and full scholarships
