I worry less about ZZ and Sumner and worry a lot more about the special teams guffaws. If the Jacks get pinned at the 10 yard line on a kickoff or punt and go 3 and out like they did multiple times against UND and SELA the Huskers are likely to take greater advantage than UND or SELA did.

This is a road game against a FBS opponent that was a top 25 team and is expected to contend for a Big10 championship game appearance. I never expect a loss, this is going to be the toughest road game of the year, by far.

If they pin us deep then we can just let zz go for 90 yards instead of 75.

I also am expecting Nebraska to take this game MUCH more seriously than normal and play with something to prove. It could definitely be very ugly for us.

That being said, this is definitely not your father's Husker team. They have had the luxury of playing three games at home, including contests against S.Miss and Wyoming, yet their defense is currently ranked 105th in the country. That is correct, there are 104 teams that have given up less yards-per-game than the beloved "Blackshirts".

you can chalk up TOB was there for Illinois as well. First thing I thought of when Sumner picked up that ball and ran with it for TD last Saturday. "TOB would have laid on that ball or lost it."

I'd like to see a win, just for what it would mean for future recruiting.Maybe the top local recruits would want to stay home and play here.

My thoughts on the game,if we can keep it close,if special teams can make the right decisions and play smart,if our blocking is sharp ,so our running game can get going,if Summner continues to play smart and hits on a few more passes,if we continue to be positive in take aways,if the "D" preforms as it has.....I'll like our chances. Lots of "ifs",but I think the guys can do it,"the power of positive thinking"!!!Go Jacks!!!!

One other thing,I've always felt that "favorites" rely on their opposition getting down on themselves, trying too hard and making mistakes, etc, etc, making it easy to defeat them.Don't do that, make them really have to prove they're better, make them earn the victory by having to play harder.Who can not love and respect an underdog who refuses to give up ?No one can.

I sort of actually hope NU gets a few scores early like a 14-0 lead but we play competitive and they think they are going to cost and them bam double Z slams a few big runs down um and we have momemtum and they think on no here it goes again. either way i just hope we win.

I too wonder how far back his "my heart isn't into the game anymore" went.I shouldn't pick on him, thats all said and done, but remember also that he was beginning to get a lot of criticism at that time. One particular thing was"he stairs down" his primary reciever and throws it to him, which naturally gets intercepted.Since then,i've tried to notice how many other QBs do the same thing.Answer,a lot.
Not defending TOB,but there might have been a reason his heart wasn't into playing anymore. But,this can open up a can of worms, so i must say, this isn't any reflection on your post,as i agree with it,but at the same time, TOB deserves maybe a little bit of defending, since that statement is purely hypothetical ,he may have instead, picked up the ball, staired down a reciever , and have it picked-sixed.....J/K

Just heard that on KC sports talk radio (with bleeped F-bombs). They were gleefully engaging in schadenfreude.

This one is growing legs.... Quickly. Embarrassing distraction on top of embarrassing loss for the Huskers. Surely an interesting Saturday to be heading for Lincoln!

Actually this was recorded after they beat Ohio State in 2011

Wow...what kind of re-action is Bo gonna get when he steps out on the field, this side show is really going to potentially draw a lot of attention...lot more drama in this game than we bargained for, good or bad?.....he may have gotten away with the "fair weather fans" part, but when he said Nebraska would be nothing without him if he left.....I don't know,Nebraska fans correctly assume that Nebraska has been great because of their support, not simply the coaches they hire. Will be interesting to see how this controversy plays out,and we'll be right in the middle of it all.

                              Its good.

I actually feel sorry for the guy even though I don't like him at all. He was simply saying the fans were being 'fair-weather fans' in a closed environment. Does he come off like a pompous prick? Hell yes he does, but I know we all talk in a closed environment like that a little differently. Just because he uses the F-bomb a lot it makes it worse. I'm guessing Bo drops the F-bomb a lot so it really isn't much different for him. Anyways, hopefully State can pull off this W.

Less then refined guy in a high profile, high pressure position. It's just who he was then and maybe a little of who he is now. There aren't many jobs more high profile, stressful and subject to criticism than the one Bo is in. I hope the Jacks continue to make it miserable. Experience will make Bo a better man and a better coach.
