Watched the presser with Coach Babers. Guy is a class act and the kind of coach that players will run through a wall for. Worst to first for his team, and they weren't even guys he recruited! That is pretty impressive. I think he's right this is just a start for EIU and Coach Babers. Good luck to them next year!

Re: Dino Babers
Like some one on the Argus thread commented, Coach Babers ran out of hats, though he was not wearing one during the pressor. I noticed when he shook hands with Coach Stig at the end of the game, he appeared to be very compliementry. A real classy guy just as the coach from YSU was, and even Coach Lennon when we took SIU down in the last series. He said he was numb, and a rightfully so reaction, but compliementary and helpful this past week with emails to Coach Stig in helping SDSU prepare for EIU. Its a shame this game did not have better attendence.

Re: Dino Babers
You learn a hell of a lot more about others, and yourself, in disappointment and loss than you ever do in victory. One thing that sports, above all else, teaches you.
Having said that, this is THE week to learn from winning. Here's hoping the Jacks play like they played yesterday in Fargo on Saturday. If they do they will win.

Re: Dino Babers
I like this coach.Toward the end of the press conference, a "journalist" leads him to denigrate his team,he absolutly refused to be steered in that direction and stood up for and appreciated what his team did for him this year, run through a brick wall,i think i'd try.Charachter is everything, coach Babers is first class in my book.

Re: Dino Babers
He did a great job with his team this year, turning it into the OVC Champs after the Panthers finished last in the prior season. For his efforts, he was named OVC Coach of the Year a few days ahead of his trip to Brookings.
I liked his top receiver and the Panther running back. The Quarterback was also very capable. Nice overall speed on the Panther team. The deciding factor, and Coach Babers alluded to it, was our overall strength and conditioning. Credit our coaching staff for having thought this one out prior to the game and sticking with their plan. Stig commented afterward that we didn't blitz even one time: about the time you try a blitz on the Panthers, they'll toss the ball down field so fast that people will be out of position. We stuck with our strenths and it really paid off.
I expect to see the Panthers finish at the top of their league again with Coach Babers at the helm. That's an unusual approach to the game -- nearly a constant no-huddle offense. It'll be interesting to see where he can take that style as he recruits his own guys.

Re: Dino Babers
Babers went to Bowling Green for the last two seasons and had success. He just got hired at Syracuse.
