TV tweeted that our GPI was 9. So if we take care of business against USD, we SHOULD be in. The only team to miss the playoffs with a GPI in the top 10 was NDSU in 2007 and they were ineligible.

Predictions on crowd? Weather looks perfect, all things considering, for a football game in the middle of November, highs near 50.

On paper our strength on defense and rushing the ball should make this a very bad matchup for USD. Take care of the ball and we win by 14+. Turn it over a couple of times and we are in for a tense one.
While I don't disagree with you at all about the uncertainty of a rivalry game, I would say that UC Davis is considerably better than USD. If you include their game against us, 5 of their 7 losses were against potential playoff teams (Poly, Northern Arizona, E Wash, Montana St, SDSU) and 4 of those 5 losses were one score defeats. They played three of those teams very tough on the road. Their other losses are to FBS San Jose St., and then a stumble against Portland St.

USD has had a similar tough schedule (NDSU, ISU-b, ISU-r, Youngstown), but outside of ISU-r have been blown out by the stronger playoff caliber teams on their schedule. I'm not including Colgate on purpose, their team and league are terrible.

Can the crowd hit 20,000 with SRO? Yes or no. Discuss.

No. even on our best SDSU fans only bring about 15K and due to the weather/ people worried about the weater this time of year and the fact that its standing room that will keep many away. Plus USD only brought about 4Kish to SF to play the bison so I wouldnt expect them to bring more then that.

Now if we had a 20K stadium, I wouldnt be surprised if it would happen. I think the limited amounts of seating that we have keeps money away and fans who would like to come but no cheap seats and seating available hurts potential attendance numbers IMO.

I sincerely hope that with the construction of a new stadium, there can be a few thousand seats that are a little more affordable than $25-$40. There are a lot of SDSU fans in Brookings County who just won't attend games at that price (my dad is one of them).

This, watching Saturday's NDSU game our defensive line was impressive.

I would hope so because even with a new stadium, bringing in a family of 4 for 1 game is a big investment. many might be willing to make more games at 20 bucks in the nosebleeds on bleachers then the current 40 bucks and stand around to watch. I understand why this game is more, but having affordable option are a must with a new stadium. have premium seating for the rich guys who want to pay more for the 50 yard line and have economy seating for the younger/familes to be able to enjoy the game also.

God in heaven, I hope you're right. But that would be a full 2,000 more than the current record. Seems like a stretch, though it appears the weather should be good. How is USD going to travel? Will a lot of students make the trip to see a one-win team? Especially when they know they'll have to stand and pay $40 to do so? And with the game on TV? We'll find out, I guess.

I say we see the return of our running game. That, combined with a stout defensive showing, should mean a good result for our Jacks. I feel better about our playoff prospects with a win given some of the information I've learned today. Thank heaven. We won't be a lock, but...should be in reasnably good shape. Go, Jacks! Ring the bells! Better dead than red! This week...South Dakota's a BLUE state!
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

Put me down for a guess of 17,051. USD fans are not going to show up in huge numbers to watch what should be a beat-down at the end of a brutal season. I do love the looks of the forecast, however.

$40 is a lot of money for SRO especially if you end up watching the game on a big screen on the practice football field. (I believe you can get a SRO ticket to watch the Cowboys in Jerry World for $25.)

Read in the Argus Leader today that Daktronics is setting up a 22 by 12 video board that will be placed on the practice field behind the east stands
