Didn't see the rushing attack coming together this quickly after last season! Looking forward to seeing your two offensive super sophomores in person! Hope Sumner gets healthy.

What changed with your defense this season?
Two things have stood out to me the most between this year's and last year's defense: Defensive line penetration and tackling.

Last year the defense line (decimated by injuries) got pushed back a lot and had trouble getting to the QB. This year, it's been a complete 180 in terms of penetration and pass rush (It wouldn't surprise me if we already have as many sacks as we did last year) with almost the same players.

Tackling also has improved immensely. Last year was the worst tackling team I can remember seeing at SDSU, while this year it seems the Jacks are wrapping up and gang tackling at a much higher rate.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

From the Indianpolis Star, an opinion piece by sports columnist Bob Kravitz commenting on Shakir Bell:
        http://www.indystar.com/article/2012...nclick_check=1

This is the columnist who was (the only one) asking about Heisman chances. As another poster noted and Kravitz states in his column, a story idea about pushing Bell for Heisman didn't pan out. Incidently, Zach Zenner's response to a question about the Heisman was well done (see the post-game interviews on linked on TV's twitter).

One of the comments to the Kravits column: That was a difficult game to watch & I hate that Shakir will take it personally. ISU is better than what they showed yesterday & am pretty sure Coach Miles will get them back on track. Was talking w/some SDS fans before the game & told them no matter the outcome they produced Adam V. for the Colts & I'm good w/that. Go Colts & Go Sycamores

Added: After reading quotes from Bell and comments made by others about him, one can only conclude the guy is a class act and deserves great success and a at the NFL.

McNeese lost yesterday to Southeastern Louisiana (SDSU's third-game opponent) 25-24. McNeese drops to 3-1...had been ranked in all polls in somewhere in the high teens. I expect McNeese to drop to 24 or 25 or maybe drop out of top 25 with that loss.

McNeese should definately drop out as should ISUb, and Montana (possibly) replaced by SDSU, NAU, or Prairie View A&M (haha).

To take a story that is kind of a reach and promote it as gospel is just the way he of operates. For a columnist of his tenure, I assumed he would have matured beyond that.

Columnists are supposed to be provocative. And how is writing about a kid's possible Heisman candidacy a half-empty glass?

Bell put up 192 yards on a Big Ten team. Granted, it's Indiana, but still....

Pretty decent chance UND is ranked.

I actually replaced UND with the last team on my list from above, for obvious reasons.

Might be drifting off topic, but I see NAU beat Montana yesterday 41-31. So some changes in the rankings no doubt
