TM: Missouri State at home, beef bowl, ... Eidness said every game's bigger than the last when you're doing your job.
STig: tough to go out when you're tired, spent but this team does that and we'll do that against Missouri State

I was very optimistic with Flynn's hire after I found out he was able to start on the OU offensive line at only 260 lbs. You know the guy didn't have a physical advantage against anyone he faced in the Big 12, so he had to be technically superior to compete. The only question was could he pass on that knowledge as a coach... I think that question has been answered.

We're 3-1 after arguably one of the toughest schedules of the conference so fatr (three road games, no cupbakes like the Bison like to kick around). Starting to get a feeling about this team...

We know zenner is for real and D is legit. Great running game kust need passing game to start clicking. Honestly cleaning up punt team is only question mark. Gave up fake punt shanked a few but wind was a factor but gave up lot of poor field position because of the punt team.

It's obvious Sumner's thumb is not 100 %. If the running game can carry the load for 1 more week (which it should do), the Jacks get a week off and hopefully Austin will be completely healed for the Leathernecks on Oct.13th.

In too many years we seem to start 0-2 or 0-3...and then we hit our stride and finish strong. Wow, 3-1 with great potential for the passing game to do nothing but get much better as Sumner's thumb improves and Rollin gets back in the groove. And, in a week or two, two of the top offensive linemen rejoin the ranks. When all the parts are assembled, SDSU may have most-seasoned, battle-tested offensive lines in the conference, complimenting what is turning out to be one of the stingiest defenses in the conference.

Southern Illinois 14, Missouri State 6
Southern Illinois scored two TDs in the first quarter and then held on.

Missouri State is 0-4. They'll be terribly dangerous...a nothing-to-lose, everything-to-gain team which, in spite of the record, has some talented athletes and smart coaches. We need to punch them in the face early and keep punching.

Illinois State 16, Western Illinois 0 with 6:52 remaining in the first half.
North Dakota State 31, Bank of North Dakota custodial staff, 0 with 8:50 left in the first half. (Okay, its a downtrodden Prairie View A&M team but for the Bison, it's a take-the-easy-way and as-long-as-the-crowd-buys-tickets, it's money-in-the-bank game. I know, I know,...they have a national title.)

Maybe this is jumping way to far ahead but does this put us in the national ranking? Win next week 4-1 would have to imagine we would be then assuming we win at home.

Yes, we should move into the rankings now. ISU was ranked 25 in one poll last week and SDSU received some vote. We'll likely change places with ISU.

I took a look at the Sycamores message board. Some posters seriously misjudged the Jackrabbit defense.... but, they are good supporters of their school.

Any report on Shakir Bell? Was he injured? He took a lot of very hard hits. I hope he's okay--guy like that contributes to the overall reputation of the league.

I think a lot of us here weren't sure until today how much better the defense was. We knew they were better, but we hadn't faced a player the caliber of Bell before today.
