I'm sure its just a coincidence this is announced less than a month before the game when almost all the tickets are already sold.

There is probably some lucky Coyote fan who will be sitting near LakesBison... I'm sure they will be in for a great gameday experience.

I agree. I think it will prove to be a fun time where beer is sold that can be a family frieldly event still. Pro sporting events concerts even the summit tounry have beer sales and all that I have been too people find a way to keep control somehow. Not sure if advertising beer for a school are ok but if it is there are potential dollars beinh left on the table beside the sale of beers.

I'm pretty sure he would ruin it for everyone regardless if he buys beer at the game or not.

If you're sitting in the lower level of a pro football game, I agree people pretty much keep it in check. However, I've personally witnessed a fist fight, shoving match, or arrest at pretty much every pro football game when I've sat in the upper level. Baseball is a different story.

LOL, I can definitely agree with you on that.

Haha. Well there is no "upper deck" at CAS and fans are mixed at Pro football game than at a college game where each section sits by themselves based by schools usually. Can't take your judgement on upper deck at a pro football game and say that is why you can't sell beer at a college game. Best example would be lower deck if at all

We had another great tailgating experience in the Backyard last week. Even won $50 from the beef guys. I love drinking beer and when done in the right setting find it quite enjoyable. I don't think beer should be served on the SDSU campus at sporting events. I think there are too many people that would abuse the privilege and make the atmosphere less student athlete, fan and family friendly.

Now, the Summit League tourney and events at other off campus venues may be a little different. I can't decide right now how I feel about that. I really have enjoyed being able to have a beer while watching games involving teams other than SDSU at Summit League tourney games in SF. I could certainly go without it.

They hated the officiating on every play. They hated the play call on every play. They hated the offense. They hated the pass defense. I really don't understand why some people go to a game. They seem to enjoy nothing at all! They complain on every play from the opening kickoff to the final gun. I doubt that beer would help.
BINGO! Isn't that amazing! Beer probably wasn't cold enough at their tailgate, beef overcooked, and too warm of a day too!

Maybe we should have beer and roofies for those folks?

Lets just say I thoroughly enjoyed drinking beer at the Summit League championship, and watching the twolves and Vikings. I have heard from multiple people they want beer to be sold. Also, I really do hope the USD/NDSU game selling beer is a success and ill just sit back and laugh.

I guess it depends on how success is defined, but as I pointed out earlier, SDSU might net somewhere between $15,000-$75,000 a season selling beer for a whole season. Not exactly earth shattering numbers in a multi-million dollar budget.

JackJD or anybody else hearing how the beer sales at Gopher games are going? Any more interest, problems?

The way things go at CAS, beer lines would be extremely long and certainly not worth the effort if you wanted to see the game. I can't see them sending vendors out into the crowd either.

It isn't going to happen anytime soon. First things first, open the tailgate lot up at halftime and after the game.

can beer companies advertise on campus? is that up to the BOR or school policy? I dont know so i am asking, but if we can sell beer make 20k-50k. and if beer companies can advertise that is more potential revenues beyond the 20k. I know it doesnt seem like much for a multi million dollar budget but a donor giving 100 bucks to the field house seems like an even smaller drop in the proverbial bucket but we all know all donations are important and needed. I think think that costs of tution go up, scholarships go up, travel costs go up, salaries go up, staffing goes up. Budget goes up. adding revenue sources regardless of what it is I think will be considered more and more every year from now. I dont think we are going to get beer at SDSU any time soon but i would bet in less then 10 years their are serious talks about bring beer sales on board because of budget reasons.

I guess one way to prevent that is alumni and donors who dont want beer sales at college sporting events to donate 10s of millions to build a stadium with the stipulation that it remains a dry stadium with no beer sales ever.

Anybody knowledgeable have a guess on the net for $111,000 in beer sales?
