Re: ESPN.com cover story on Doug Miller

What I remember about Doug Miller was a Hobo Day game 1989 I believe. The game was with Morningside, whose coach was cheating like crazy with recruiting and padding grads and what have you. His name was Dave Dolch. Any who, the game was called on Saturday do to lighting and was continued the following Sunday, the final score was 13-12. I checked the media guide to be certain and the difference in the game was a blocked extra point at the very end of the game. SDSU had a 12 to 6 lead when Morningside scored a TD to tie the game 12-12. Morningside should have gone for 2 and if they failed, they would have went into over time. Who reach up and blocked the extra point? None other than Doug Miller. Seems like he blocked some other PAT'S too. Those were made early in his college career and his knees had not been touched by the surgeon's scapel. He left us too soon.
