  • 2011 Hobo Day Parade Pics

The theme: Night of the Living Hobos. Pretty typical Hobo Day parade. Great crowd on hand...bands, convertibles, zombies, Miss Homelycoming, etc. Here are some random pics.

    Brookings High School band.

Theme floats...Night of the Living Hobos

    and, of course, Miss Homelycoming.

Jack was running around and hopping rides...

Red-shirt guys were in the parade (or, were they just following the coeds ahead of them and happened to find themselves in the parade?)

The Menno High School Wolves received serious applause along the route.

      That a guy? New policy: Don't ask...just don't ask.

      Uncle Sam and a train.

Community people participated too. This group handed out instructions for four-person lightbulb changing.

        Okay, two more....

Not sure it was connected to the theme but this group sounded good:

And you know its over until next year when the Hobo Day Committee shows up in the golf carts (followed by the cops, of course).

Thanks JJD for the pix. Was there, but enjoyed perusing these nevertheless. Would like to know where that train outfit came from...it was very classy, and have to assume it came from outside the community.

The train had a family name on it and you can see "Belvidere" in the picture. Best guess without more information: the train and family hails from the community of Belvidere on I-90. Any posters from that Belvidere, Kadoka area?
