    Re: 2012 Recruiting List

Looks as though the Jacks also offered a JUCO Safety out of Iowa.

    S - Andrew Brown
    5-10" 195
    Iowa Western CC
    Council Bluffs, IA (St Alberts)

Same high school of current Jacks safety Jake Gentile.

SDSU is the only offer so far.

Iowa Western is quickly coming a force in the JUCO ranks and puts out several FBS players each year.

With Bayer and Brichacek in the fold, look for the Jacks to make a serious pitch next year to land another Howells Bobcat in defensive tackle Nathan Bazata (6-3, 245), a Division 1 prospect in the class of 2013. I'm guessing that Steven Bazata who last wore a Rabbits jersey in 2009 is related. It sounds like the another Bazata, Jarrod, won't get an offer to play DI football. He's a senior this year and is a little bit smaller than Nathan and was less productive on the defensive side of the ball.

I said it in a previous post, Howells played Giltner in the 8-man, D2 semifinals this year and there were four DI recruits from the class of 2012 and at least one from the class of 2012. That is alot of talent and size for two schools that graduate roughly 10 boys in a class each year.

Clint Brown has been busy. I'm sure having a former Nebraska player as your Co-Defensive coordinator doesn't hurt for recruiting Nebraska.

A look at a possible future defensive front,

    DE Bayer 6'5" 230
    DT Brichacek 6'5" 240
    DT Rath 6'4" 245
    DE ?

That's going to be a pretty big front 4.

It looks like Bayer was getting pretty heavy interest from Kansas State.

    Highlight video of Mr. Bayer:

Too bad we didn't get Drew Ott (committed to Iowa), then we could have had an entire 8 man Nebraska defensive line in one class.

Can't believe the talent is some of these small towns in Nebraska. Most towns might have a DI recruit once every half century if that, yet Howells and Giltner have at least 2 DI recruits in the same class.

Well, we know what they're focusing on this year. The offensive and defensive line is where you win games though. I like it.

One game I would have loved to watch was their semifinal loss to Howells this year. Howells front three featured DE - Brian Bayer, 6'5" 230, Howells, NE http://bit.ly/glTLZm. Bayer is another recruit who we have an offer out to. The other two that lined up next to Bayer were two Bazata brothers. The Jacks have had some success with that name on the back of the jersey.

Late this summer and early this fall I also had the chance to talk with Logan's parents. Logan's dad was wearing Jackrabbit apparel the first time I met him and we talked about the Rabbits and Logan's team from Giltner. His parents were very impressed with SDSU and the coaching staff. I'm excited to see Logan wearing blue this next year!
TV just posted this on his live chat for the MBB game - looks like we got another verbal from a different player from Howells, NE. Maybe that will help with the recruitment of Bayer too. TV says that Brichacek with play DT at SDSU, was he on that same line with Bayer and Bazata brothers?

Jordan Brichacek, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound senior from Howells, Neb., said Tuesday that he has given a verbal commitment to play football at South Dakota State. A little breaking news for you. He says NDSU and USD also offered.
