Wowza... Don't see SDSU getting too many 3 star recruits who had BCS school offers.

Gretna is the same school as current Jackrabbit, WR Brandon Hubert.
This kid is a pretty good athlete. He was 2nd team all state for Gretna in basketball as a junior and scored something like 28 points in the state championship game last year. Was a key member of their football team that was undefeated in the regular season. He blew out his knee in the quarterfinals in football this fall and Gretna lost the next game ..... it didn't help the basketball team much losing him either. I wish him the best in his recovery and walking on at Nebraska.

Add to that a coach who loves his offense, Eidness. These are the makings for an exciting season.

    Get
him a little room to run, and he can rack up huge chuncks of real estate with the speed he has.Him and a big bruiser type would really have the defense wondering, along with a super speedy WO and a great TE.Wow,getting chills just thinking of the possibilites for Sumner and the Jacks.

I think playing a true freshman and putting someone like this on offense is a pretty big change in my book. Usually any type of athlete would play on the defensive end.

I am sure our coaches took some notes, after watching Bell from ISU-Blue dominate us and the rest of the MVC.

Don't know why the coaching staff would need a true freshman to play right away if they planned on keeping both returners at the running back position (Kool and Zenner) plus have a RS Freshman back like Reggie Gandy, who was highly touted and won 3 scout team "PotW", coming into the fold. Also, Winterboer always seemed to get positive reviews from the coaching staff.
It could be that the coaching staff might want a really quick and fast back for 3rd down passing situations.

    Kemo:
Just wondering if maybe the offense will change significantly and more running backs will be needed. Kool could still be in the mix, just speculating here. Eidness is a wizard at offense. I cant imagine him being happy with our off the left tackle attempts at running. I can see a number of plays where the QB tosses to the RB and we are off to the races. I have no clue to whats in the play book. We will see next fall. Kool just might be back at WR, who knows.

I looked up Coach Johnson to see how a coach in Orlando would know much about Brookings and it turns out he should be pretty familiar and could be a good go-to for SDSU in the future.

Thanks Mitch, it helps to have connections. Martinson was about the only one whose red shirt was removed. I recall from a Difference makers meeting that Stig mentioned he had called his parents and talked it over with them before the RS came off.
