Offering alot of "dualthreat" qb's.
I know we offer alot of qbs, because they can play WR/Safety/Etc...

But I can't help wondering?

Is this a step toward running more spread, and spread option stuff?

Gandy ran almost exclusively out of the gun, from his Highlight video.

Thoughts?

I would say pipe dream as of now as long as meadows calls the plays and the Off. maybe Eidness is bringing in a new style but it would not seem to be the option I think coaches would go first.

I'm actually a fan of the "pro-style" offense, myself. Helps the running game to have the extra blockers in there. And having an effective running game helps the passing game.

We're not Florida, Texas, Oklahoma...who can recruit the elite athletes and put them out in space where the defense can't keep up with them.

I was just wondering if they were leaning that way.

A few of the top players in the state in my opinion off the top of my head are Trey Naasz from SF Lincoln 6'2 200 WR, Devon O'Farrell SF Washington 5'10 205 LB, Sam Steffl SF O'Gormon 6'2 210 LB, and Davonte Clay SF Washington 5'9 180 RB.

Google sez he has a brother playing linebacker at Iowa State, just made a visit to Kansas State, won the Missouri big-school championship, he goes to Lee's Summit West, which is actually way down south in Lee's Summit (Missouri folks apparently have some problems with that directionality thing . . . Missouri Western is in St. Joseph, which is in the northwest, Northwest Missouri is in Maryville, which is in the WAY WAY northwest, Central Missouri is in Warrensburg, which is pretty far west to be "central,", Missouri Southern is in Joplin, which is in the far southwest corner, way more to the southwest than Missouri State which used to be Southwest Missouri, etc., etc. but I digress), I'm way up north in Lee's Summit (think approximately Tea vs. Brandon around Sioux Falls in terms of distance).

so what your saying is it's pretty darn close...

AL: It’s totally good. I was really impressed with South Dakota State and their coaches and their whole team and motivation. It was really cool. I liked their spring game and how they play football. It was overall, a really good trip.

AL: My top five probably would be Minnesota, Iowa State, North Dakota State, South Dakota State and Harvard. There is probably ten other schools that I am hearing from, but overall, I think that it is between Minnesota, Harvard and Iowa State. Those are my top three.

It's early but we'll see if he gets an offer from his top 3 schools (Minnesota, IA ST & Harvard)

They're not the easiest schools to get an offer from. If he doesn't, than it should fall between us and the other area FCS schools. It's good to see that he enjoyed his visit.

I liked the story on the Ott kid. My football crew has officiated playoff games the last two years for them and I did not realize he still had another year to play. Two years ago he was overshadowed by their quarterback who broke many passing records in the state with their high powered offense. Ott's everything that the story builds him up to be.

Apparently this young man has options and if we get our offer out there early, it may pay off down the road once this young fellow has his fill of Harvard. With Harvard in the mix, it would appear this young fellow is classroom whiz.
