    6. Ray's
    7. Main Street Pub (and I only go there if I want to sing karaoke)
    8. The Lantern

    9. The 9 (I can't stand that place)

I usually don't go anywhere except the first four or at closing the Lantern since there last call is later than everyone else
1 Skinners to have a beer
2 Cubbys for something to eat
3 Lantern for the latern teas

then the 9 is somewhere at the bottom.

It's open. The atmosphere is cool and I have eaten there twice. I thought the food was pretty good.

The Collegian's food editor didn't think as much:

Every state had one. The Feisty Redhed and your son would have enjoyed him and the kids. The Captain went to his eternal rest a few years back, but was around for a long time and had a big impact on SDSU Fans. It might make for a good conversation piece. Just ask fans if they have heard of Capt 11 and you might get a long long conversation.

We had two actually! One for Monster/ Karate Movies, and one for the horror movies on Friday nights . We really didn't have one for cartoons that I can remember Wait.. There was Barnaby I totally forgot about him, he retired when I graduated high school.

The good thing about Capt. 11, whose name comes from Channell 11, KELO tv, was on your birthday your parents took you to the show and you sat in a few rows of bleachers behind the capt. and if you were lucky got to help fire up the time machine for cartoons. It was an afternoon show like maybe 4 to 5 pm.

Redhead, I have four words for ya...

                  Jim's Tap Ride-Through

End of June, bikers ride their motorcycles through Jim's Tap... Incredible and a lot of fun, but you might need hearing protection.

Jim's Tap no long does the Ride-Thru. Skinners hosted it this past summer.

Although you may not know from this thread, there are a lot of other things to check out in Brookings than bars.

Brookings has the best Children's Museum in the area (gotta confess, it is a blast for us adults too!)

We also have McCrory Gardens which is having a renovation that will make it even more friendly.

Don't miss the opportunity to check out an event or two at the Performing Arts Center on campus, it really is an excellent place to watch a concert.

South Dakota Art Museum has classic Harvey Dunns and Native American Art.
Also, you can get some of the world's best ice cream on campus.

Wow. Its very exciting to see all the responses to FeistyRed request for info. I to have a son that was part of the 2011 recruiting class (Trevor Wesley) And We are very excited about him attending SDSU and playing ball there. I love the support I see for the program and look forward to being apart of the JackRabbit family. Can't wait to bringing my Golf clubs an play some Dakota golf.

Welcome aboard NJ2011! Bring the golf clubs to early games, and shotgun for pheasant hunting late season games. Brookings/SDSU is a GREAT college experience, and we hope Trevor makes good use of his days/years at State.

Being that I'm from Texas(came out to AZ to attend college) I would love to do some hunting up that way but I will have to rent that shoot gun the airlines wouldn't understand my reasoning for bringing it.

there is at least one news story per year of all the hunters Landing at the Sioux Falls airport and checking their rifles. So it can be done. Not sure I would want to be on that plane however

                                Welcome aboard.
