He gave me a nice comical salute motion back that only Tyler could pull off. It was great.
They were having some trouble with Scotty's wireless mic. I'm guessing Tyler was fiddling with the receiver.

      Re: Wiu gdt

Havn't had opportunity to comment on the game until now. Good to see a win. Any comments I would have regarding improved play and soft defense have been covered in prior posts. Regarding the complaint about the measurement, I suspect the WIU coach requested it and the officials will not refuse that request if even near reasonable. WIU is, if anything else, well coached.

That said my nephew came up from USD for the game (we are working on him to change his address). His comment after the game was that SDSU was now "off The Schneid". The Jacks are now Schneidless, this is a good thing. With continued imporved play here on out they should not climb back onto The Schneid.

Why don't you compliment the kid on the 3 passes he caught, and the winning TD catch. Tour a joke critizing the kids. I suppose your perfect.

He hangs onto the ball way to long, and when the protection breaks down he needs to roll out and find the open receiver.
He picks out who is going to throw to before they even break the huddle. He stares that guy down and throws to him whether he is open or not.
I don't want to be bias, but look at the last 6 minutes of the UNI game. They first started using the TE then and he had 4 catches and a TD. Why not do this in the 1,2, and third quarters also.
I would hope the coaches tell TOB not to stare down his receivers like he does. This is the biggest probel he has and every defense knows it.

Hey its just like you said. When I go and watch the games I will give my opinion on the games.
By the way TOB must have took my advice. He didn't do any of the negatives I mention in my OPINION and we won the game. GO JACKS.

Back trouble? Recent surgery? Just plain old tired? It's their business, I'd say. And to suggest they should stay home? Is that really what you want them to do?

I am grateful that we have many very ardent fans. That's great, and I'm not saying we don't need more. But haven't our senior citizen Jackrabbits earned the right to support the team in their own way?
I don't care what they do just don't hassle people who do want to stand up on third down. If people want to stand on third down that's their business. I don't think the specific people I'm referencing had any of the ailments you are describing as they stood for the school song and band etc, but when someone decided to stand on third down they didn't understand it or like it.

not enough credit goes to the Oline. They were a question mark coming in to this year. Now I will say they are the best group of this team. also Priddy has been great punting and good think he gives us a great chance everytime to pin them deep. Overall I think the Oline won it this week while our D and missed tackles about lost it. A mistake here or there is ok, they happen, you cant void them. But missing tackles on back to back to back plays is not good. No way Batten, Rogers, Jackson, Johnson would let the backs run by or miss a tackle. So I guess my fix for the problem, is intensity. Do everything with a sense of intensity and play as hard as you can.

Back to the oline, they allowed great time to run the ball and gave good protection for pass plays. Or WRs need to work on breaking away from coverage or learn to seperate a little because if TOB gets the pass there they rarely have a chance for YAC.

Honestly besides the Neb game, this is the only time the team really looked interested and ready to play. Maybe a little passion or frustration, something made them look ready. Hope it keeps up.

I was standing right there, WIU coach request the measurement. It was obvious that it wasn't close but the coach has that right and used it well within the rules. I was still screaming at Ingalls to start the clock, caught up in the moment as they say.

I mentioned the o-line earlier, but I guess my brief critique of the TE needed the attention of my post.

The o-line are unsung heros right now on the team. No sacks for three games, Minett over 100 for the last four. They are doing a very nice job. They have gelled quickly after what seemed to be a complete failure the opening week against a team who's probably even better than their fans thought they were at the beginning of the year.

They seem to be getting better yards out of the i-formation right now versus the shotgun, single back. Plus the i-formation sets up the play action which TOB does a nice job in selling.

                      Up next..the d-line.

From what I saw 90% of the stadium was screaming to have the clock started, whether they were standing or sitting at the time.

In response to what somebody else (sorry, I forget who) posted about needed a flashier/louder announcer at the SDSU games, I could not disagree more. In fact, I turned to my friend Saturday and said, "The more I go to games all over the place, from high school to pro, the more I appreciate the announcer here at CAS. He's a real pro."

Being a knucklehead cheerleader and getting caught up in the emotion is what I'm there for. I'm a fan. I'm up. I'm down. I'm ecstatic. I'm devastated. I'm happy. I'm angry. I swear too much. I get all wound up. I know how I'm supposed to feel, when I'm supposed to cheer or be displeased. I wish I knew who our announcer was...he's just a class act. I don't want a guy going, "That's another JACKRABBIT...FIRST DOWN!" like that jackass up in Fargo. And I don't want him getting too wound up like some a dad announcing a high school game while watching his kid. And I don't want a play-by-play guy, either.

I often buck the trend on this board, but I hope I'm in the majority on this one.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

JackFan96: I'm with you on your comments about the announcer. I think there's only one announcer that does a poorer job than the NDSU guy and that's the Minnesota announcer, with his "rah!" tagged on to some of the cheers.

SDSU's announcer does a great job. He's not supposed to be a cheerleader.

I agree also. The Neb announcer who was way to animated in his voice talking just about drove me crazy.

Mr Lueth(SP) use to or probably still does games for washington high in SF. I felt he was really good, not a homer and fair so the other team and families would apprecieate I am sure.

I dont want the annoucer to do it, why not have the stupid score board do stuff in big situations to build up the noise and get the crowd up.
