Players who left the team

I don't want this thread to be negative in anyway. I am wondering who has left us since going D-1, because we sign some guys and I get excited to see them play after hearing about them and a year or two later, they are no longer with the team for what ever reason. It seems several from the team last year are gone. I was wondering if there is any kind of running total of who is no longer here who left for what ever reason, to transfer, or quit football, the reasons are not important to me, but just wondering what names we heard about and signed and left before we got to see them play.

I am happy with the guys we have and will focus on them, this is not a list of what ifs, but more just to see where we are after players left. Just reading Terrys article made me think, I can only name a few to start.

I am thinking of since we have gone D-1 but that would probably be a hard list to compile.

I believe Pat Brown was a DB from Iowa who was pretty highly regarded. He left the team this past spring I think.

I went back and looked at the signing day press releases for the past seasons and listed who has stayed and who has gone. I couldn't find any news releases from before 2007.

09 took a hit in players who are no longer here but the ones we have are going to have awesome careers I think. Hope Koehlmoos gets the classroom together so he can play.

I'm not sure the 09 class ever had much of a shot of having good retention number and I think the coaching staff knew that.

-The two DE's from California were undersized and signed late. I would have put money down that they wouldn't make it very long and wouldn't doubt that the coaching staff also felt they were a bit risky signings.

- Mondol was brought in as insurance and, Whittier was either going to win the job or probably get out of dodge.

- CB Jones had missed most of his Junior & Senior years to injury so it wasn't too surprising that he had to hang it up.

The tough losses were CB Brown, LB Weiss, & RB Walker Woods.
