Anyone else find it odd that they said they couldn't get ahold of the kid. Would think a quick phone call to Spearfish High would have gotten things done.
Who knows? Maybe there's an NCAA rule against that?
That's a good group...take a look at this year's high school state meet results.
Dunbar (Dell Rapids) is a prototypical 400m intermediate hurdler...he's got the height, the build, the speed. My prediction: if he continues to develop, the school record's in jeopardy early in his career (held by Jackrabbit All-American and Hall-of-Famer Don Larson, the NDSU Bison's head coach, at :52.04 set in 1975).
Any word on recruits for the team for next year. Signing day for track is upon us and I wonder if any news is out there for the 2011 - 2012 track team.
I only have real knowledge of the distance side of this matter.

Trevor has committed to a preferred walk-on offer for the football team. It may be difficult for him to do spring football and run, but it would be fun.
I've been working with Rod on a couple of recruits for 2012. I know this may not fit this thread, but they would be good gets.
Jacob Olson was recently selected the Nebraska Gatorade winner for cross country. He had the fastest time in all classes this last fall. His teamate, Nolan Zimmer, is also a junior and he had the 2nd fastest time in Nebraska this last year. Both runners compete for Kearney High School.
Olson recently competed in the mile and 800 at the University of Nebraska - Kearney indoor meet. It was an open meet featuring three D-II schools, and a few other smaller colleges. Several former collegiate athletes and a few other high schoolers competed too. Olson finished 3rd out of 18 runners, and only one college runner beat him in the mile. His 4:28 time was impressive considering he has not trained specifically for indoor meets yet, and the track is a small 166 meter track with no banked curves.
My son runs with both and he has been selling the benefits of wearing Jackrabbit blue.

Takahashi has been very quiet about where she will go. However, she has been all over the country and has gotten the interest of multiple major universities. I will be very surprised if she stays in the northern plains.
