Re: 'Rabbit Women CONF CHAMPS!!
That was great news when they announced it during the game on Saturday. Very good job for the women's team (sounds like the men's team just has had too many injuries but their fifth place is good too).Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Re: 'Rabbit Women CONF CHAMPS!!
2008 Jackrabbit men and women at the Summit League Championships, Shreveport, LA, 11/2/08.
Back row: Grad-Assistant Coach John Franzen; Brad Anderson; Marshall Kambestad; Kyle Schmidt; Neil Albares; Greg Beesley; Jake Schneller; Mike Krsnak; Joe Roby; Todd Vlieger; and Head Coach Rod DeHaven. Front: Nicole Davis; Amanda Frohling; Ashley Storm; Caitlin Berry; Kelsey Aune; Claire Steinke; Dani Burke; Emily Smith; and Anna Garner.
Post-race comments: Shortly after the start of the women's race, SDSU's top finisher, Ashley Storm, had her left running spike removed when a competitor stepped on Ashley's heel (accident...a hazard in cross country racing) so she ran nearly the entire distance with one shoe and earned All-Conference first-team (top 7 finishers) honors with her seventh-place finish; Second-team All-Conference is awarded to finishers 8 through 14 so Jackrabbits Nicole Davis (9th), Claire Steinke (10th) and Caitlin Berry (11th) made that rank... Centenary put on a good meet on a fan-friendly course (easy to watch almost the entire race in the men's and women's divisions) ...lots of friendly people in Shreveport...almost perfect weather during the women's race...the heat and humidity started going up during the men's race and the T-shirts were in order (temps Friday and Saturday were in the low 80s)...the Jackrabbit men have a bright future but just had a run of injury-induced bad luck.Last edited by JackJD; 11-02-2008, 02:24 PM.

Re: 'Rabbit Women CONF CHAMPS!!
CONGRATULATIONS to the Women's Cross country team...a conference CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Have to issue one more big THANKS to JJD (of course, I know it helps to have little brother on the team) for keeping us up-to-date!!!
The pictures are great and while I only got one chance to see the teams run this year, I follow their progress and REALLY appreciate the reports you have posted this year. And congratulations to Coach DeHaven, who is doing a phenomenal job of getting our program moving up!!!
