I just got done talking to a couple members of the Mens track team, and looking at results from the first day at Iowa State. The most noteworthy result as of this post would be the Mens Distance Medley Relay which set a school record of 9:57.33 bettering the previous record of 10:17.50, which was set back in 1974. Unofficial splits for the group were as follows: J Roby Jr. 3:02 (1200), Dan Winders Fr. 50.low (400), D.J. Thompson Fr. 1:54 (800), M Kambestad RFr. 4:09 (1600). The group finished 5th out of 19 teams and bettering the Bison by roughly 18 seconds.

The old school record in the indoor distance medley was 10:17.5 set in about 1973 or 1974.

I saw the race. We ran well and will improve!

Kambestad's 4:09 split was impressive.

Replacing a post now deleted (bad misspellings etc...it was late when I got home from the Iowa State Meet and a sloppy typing job was made worse when I failed to save and post the edited version!)
