Results from U of MN 9/8/07

The men and women ran at the U of Minnesota today. The Gopher women are one of the top teams and proved it, perfect scoring the meet. SDSU takes second, Drake University 3rd, North Dakota State U 4th and Minnesota State - Mankato, 5th. Top SDSU finisher: Caitlin Berry in 10th; Claire Steinke, 13th.

The Minnesota men didn't enter as a team ... they ran at BYU this weekend. Some unattached runners likely Minnesota red-shirts. Drake U won the team title followed by SDSU with NDSU taking 3rd. Marshall Kambestad did not enter the race for SDSU -- more of a precaution after an ankle problem last weekend (in other words, he's fine but didn't run the meet). Top SDSU finisher: Andrew Van Nurden, 2d; Joe Roby, 6th.

Incidently, the winner of the women's race was Jamie Cheever, an outstanding runner in cross country and track. I believe she is retired SDSU Prof and Dean Herb Cheever's granddaughter.
