The Jackrabbit men’s cross country team showed once again they’re probably the best SDSU sports team. The Jacks finished fourth in the Midwest Regional at Tulsa on Friday. I thought they had run well enough to get an at large bid to the national meet but it appears that won’t happen this season. Even so, the team continues to move up on the national stage.
The Jackrabbit women finished 16 out of 33 teams led by an outstanding performance by Anna Donnay’s 10th place finish.
Here’s the summary from GoJacks.com
STILLWATER, Okla. – The South Dakota State cross country teams leave this year's regional meet on a high note with two Jackrabbits being named All-Region honorees, as well as the men's team finishing fourth overall at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet— their best regional finish to date.
Anna Donnay finished 10th overall and first for the Jacks to earn All-Region honors with a time of 20:57.0. Donnay is the third Jack to ever earn the award and her 10th place finish ties her with Rachel King's 2017 performance for best finish by a Jackrabbit (male or female) at the Midwest Regional.
The women's team finished in 16th place in the 33-team field with 387 points.
