The Jacks have a great home meet. The men score 25 points to beat MSU-Moorhead and NDSU 60 and 80. The men held out their #4 runner, freshmen Joel Reichow (White Bear Lake, MN) who finished 3 seconds behind Jared Ailts (Yankton, SD) last weekend. It is still unclear whether Anthony Bongard (Redwood Falls, MN) will run this fall. He finished 8th, unattached. Sophomore Trent Lusignan (Shakopee, MN) won the individual title over senior Mike Krsnak (Rapid City, SD).

On the women's side, Laura Wolles (Chester, SD) leads them across the line for the first time. She is followed closely by Tera Potts (Sturgis) and Erin Hargens (Sioux Falls Roosevelt). Rounding out the scoring were freshman, Cheyenne Bowers (St. James, MN) and redshirt freshmen Laura Lawton (Eden Prairie, MN). A key indicator of team strength in cross country is team spread. The Jacks had a 21 second spread from 1st to 5th and Courtney Neubert was only 6 more seconds behind that.

It will be a good season for the Jacks.

      Re: 2012 Cross Country Results

Last weekend, SDSU men beat Augustana (#6 in D2) by a small margin and USD by a large margin. USD is thought to be the #2 team in the Summit League. Mike Krsnak finished 5th overall and Trent Lusignan finished 12th. These were some of the best performances ever at this meet for SDSU. The women finished just behind Augie (#1 in D2) and again beat USD. The Jacks are thought to be around #2 in the Summit. NDSU is the favored team.

Next up for the Jacks is the huge Chili Pepper Invite hosted by Arkansas this coming Saturday. The men will run a 10k (realistically an easy 6 mile) instead of an 8k. The women run their customary 6k distance.
