This is probably one of, if not the biggest victory in SDSU baseball history if you consider what type of program Arkansas has. To beat an SEC power in their house is a big deal.

Make that one of the biggest in all sports during the DI era. I'm probably forgetting something obvious, but have we knocked off a top-15-ranked team in any other sport?

Nope. Beating #17 USC is probably as close as it gets.

Of course, in all fairness, these early season rankings don't matter much.

What a great win for the baseball team!!!

I have a couple of good friends from Arkansas that are going to receive a phone call today and a little good-natured ribbing.

Could go something like this:

SUPERBUNNY(SB): What's new how's business?
BUDDY: Not bad, picking up?
SB: You excited as I am about the baseball season?
BUDDY: Yeah, the Razorbacks are really good this year!
SB: Really? Cool. Did they play yesterday?
BUDDY: Yeah but it was only against some smaller school. Didn't even check the score.
SB: I happened to spot it. They got beat by SDSU.
BUDDY: Oh, San Diego State has a decent team.
SB: No, The SDSU, South Dakota State University! Say it isn't so!
BUDDY: Really? C'mon, really?
SB: Fear the rabbit! You owe me dinner the next time we get together!

BTW-those dinners have been pretty epic when we see each other. Glad he's buying!

I believe that when the USC women came to Frost arena a few years ago they were, at least, a top 15 team. And the football team beat a pretty high ranked NDSU team too...

But those victories were at home. Beating Arkansas on the road is pretty darn impressive. I would assume that a victory like that means they won't be sneaking up on anyone anymore this year.

Can you imagine what the folks at ORU would do if the Jacks continue to improve and end up knocking them off? That would take the rivalry started last year in MBB, and this year in WBB, to an entirely different level.
