ROCHESTER, Mich. – Juniors Rob Merkle, Andrew Stafford, and Taylor Traub all hit solo homers, and freshman Eric Ogg turned in a two-hit performance, but the Oakland University baseball team (6-14, 3-2 Summit) was unable to overcome the late clutch hitting of South Dakota State (12-16, 5-0 Summit), surrendering three ninth inning runs as the Jackrabbits took an 8-5 victory over the Golden Grizzlies on Friday at the OU Baseball Field.

To see SDSU ahead of ORU in the conference standings, may it be even for a little bit...beautiful!! How many home games has this team had??? Oh yeah...ZERO.
IMHO, what Reggie and this team has done with all the adversity they have been though the past couple of years, probably tops the list of "program" success stories during the transition. Great job fellas!!

oakland University has been closed until Tuesday morning due to graffiti threats. Therefore, the rest of the SDSU-Oakand series has been cancelled.

Since it's Sunday afternoon and I don't want to do any of the many things I need to do, I looked into this.

I found this article from Oakland U's "independent student newspaper" dated 3/25/08:

Doug Rice graduated from Oakland University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Now, as a member of the the Detroit Ignition soccer team, he recently became a published author. His book “From the Stall” contains nearly 140 photos of bathroom stall graffiti. The Oakland Post caught up with Rice via telephone while he was taking a break from reading stall inscriptions in California.

Let's see . . . some guy from Oakland U. writes a book about bathroom graffiti and gives an interview with the campus student newspaper . . . shortly thereafter, graffiti threats show up in some of Oakland U's bathrooms shutting the school down . . .

There may be no connection at all. But this is just weird.
