  • Opening Day is Here!

Baseball fans it’s hard to believe but opening Day is here. The Rabbits open up against perennially Top 40 program Dallas Baptist. The team is dealing with a huge injury that will be felt all season long. Tyler Olmstead will not Pitch this season after having hip surgery. Young arms and an experienced lineup. It will be interesting to watch. One win this weekend would be great. The first home series is set for the weekend of March 27th vs. Omaha. There’s lots of baseball to be played between then and tonight. Play Ball!

Two difficult defeats to start the season. Late innings by a run. I believe these results show how important the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex is to this program. There is no way possible this team could've ever went to Dallas Baptist and been competitive practicing in the barn and Medary Middle School. This facility has changed the possibilities for this program. Thank you to everyone who donated to make this facility a reality. Hopefully the Rabbits can sneak out a win today and fly the "W" flag!

    Go Rabbits!

Despite losing all 3 of the games it was a good weekend. Got lots of experience playing what is or soon will be a Top 25 team in the country. Olmstead nor McCay threw and Barnett is coming off tendinitis so not up to full steam either.

All things considered a solid weekend against easily the best team we will face all year. When your closer comes out and pops a 100 mph on the radar you know you are facing a good team.

The Gophers are back on the schedule tonight. It's always nice to beat the maroon and gold. The team needs a win like this to turn the momentum.

Early season take observations. The bats have been silent. Only two players are slugging above .500 and not one regular with a batting average over .300. Maybe the batting average doesn't matter any longer as teams don't look at BA like they use to. Call me old school but I still believe batting average matters. The team has fielded the ball great. A .974 team fielding percentage is excellent. On the mound two players have stuck out. Adam Mazur as a starter is a solid one and Brett Mogen out of the bullpen has been excellent.

Let's hang the "W" flag tonight at US Bank Stadium.

        Go Rabbits!
