  • Former Jacks in affiliated baseball

Now that Zach Coppola and Adam Bray have signed and been assigned I figured we should get a threat started to monitor their progress as well as the others

Blake Treinen- Washington Nationals, has spent all season with the big club, has really struggled at times but has also pitched quite well at times. Has been in somewhat of a mop up roll for them this year after earlier struggles

Caleb Thielbar- Rochester Redwings (AAA)-Minnesota Twins Was sent to AAA out of Spring Training after somewhat struggling during ST, was then called up when Duensing went on the DL had 1 bad outing, but had some solid apperances as well. Was then sent back to AAA Rochester, has pitched well in Rochester

    2015 numbers- MN Twins- 6 G 5 IP 5 H 3 R 3 ER 5 SO
    Rochester- 17 G 20.1 IP 21 H 5 R 5 ER 1 HR

Layne Somsen- Louisville Bats (AAA)- Cincinnati Reds- pitched very well at AA, as a long reliever was moved up to Louisville where he has pitched well in his 4 apperances (3 starts 1 relief). Was removed from the game in his last start after taking a hit off the shin and was placed on the 7 day disabled list.

From what I've found on twitter, Layne Somsen has a fractured toe, and is on the DL for the meantime. Reading a few blogs from Reds fans and they are pretty high on him, a couple thought he might have been called up this week if he was healthy, as the Reds pitchers are getting injured everyday

Not actually a toe. 5th metatarsal. 4 to 6 weeks. He was hit with a line drive. Really bad timing.

Thanks for the update, yeah the Reds are going through pitchers about as fast as any team in the majors right now, hope the best with his recovery

Blake Treinen picked up an opening day win for the Nationals yesterday. Very positive that he started the season with the Big League club. At this pace he will get 162 wins this year!
