  • Landon Busch - Transferring from K-State to SDSU

From TV at the Argus Leader.

Landon Busch is returning to Brookings, and will be transferring to the Jacks from K-State. He will sit out next year and have two years of eligibility remaining. The coaching staff at K-State pulled his scholarship for undetermined reasons.

Below is a link to his profile from K-State. His ERA of 6.18 might have been the reason for the scholarship being pulled.

A year off and a different coaching staff with a return to his hometown may do him some good. I am excited to see how he will do in the Summit League.

Rumor has it and rumors are always true - is that we will likely get another KS transfer? Again, this kid is rumored to be another pitcher. So, our pitching staff continues to look strong for the future.

Yes. That is the name I am hearing. Is he a Sioux Falls kid?

Per TV, he's indeed transferring to State, Michigan State, unfortunately: "Lincoln grad RHP Ethan Landon said he's transferring from K-State to Michigan State. Went 0-0 with 3.26 ERA in 24 games as true frosh."

I was on a team that played against Busch in high school. He is left handed and throws in the 90s with good off-speed. He was unhittable in high school, but that isn't against college batters. I though he was better than John Hander, who went to pitch for KU last year. Hopefully he can reduce his ERA. It did say that he had a much lower ERA as a starter, so hopefully he could potentially fill a starting role for us.
"Macy Miller could play for anybody in the country. She's an all-league guard in the SEC. And South Dakota State, there's no doubt they could play in our league. They wouldn't finish in the bottom half either." --Jimmy Dykes
