WOW! A Nice Weekend for Baseball

I think the Title says it all. It looks like we have a nice weekend for baseball on our hands. Little cool and breezy tomorrow, but the sun is suppose to be out. Get out and support the Rabbits. 3pm today, noon doubleheader tomorrow and a 1 pm start Sunday. Hopefully the Rabbits will take care of business and put themselves in a good position for the conference tournament.

Jacks win first game of the series 6-2, behind a two-hit, 10 SO, 1 run performance by Layne Somsen through 8 innings. JD Moore came in to earn the save in the 9th. Daniel Telford may get some reps, but if not needed, may be saved for next week. In the meantime, Omaha won 2 and lost 1 to Oakland, with one left, and NDSU lost today's game to Western Illinois. GO JACKS!

No save for Moore today. Only reason for my nitpicking is that his next one breaks Trever V's school record. Hopefully he'll get that chance tomorrow. Good start to the weekend for the Rabbit ball club

Jacks win two today. They are within one game of UNO for the regular season lead and are closing in on lockling up the #1 seed in the Summit Tournament.

I was on I-29 listening to Tyler M call the game and as I approached Brookings, I decided to pull off the interstate and watch the final three innings. We locked up the #1 seed for the Summit League Tourney (a double-elim tourney for the auto qualifier to the NCAA Tourney).

The Jacks look real tough right now. Fort Wayne was having a bad day!

JD, Jacks are close to locking up the #1 but its not done yet. We have locked up a spot in the tourney but with 6 conference games remaining we still need a couple of wins to lock up the top seed.
