It looks like Blake had a good outing on July 27th. He pitched two innings, gave up 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 BB, and had four strikeouts. He needs a few more outings like that to improve his stats.

The he goes out and has a not so good day today pitching 2 innings giving up 3 runs, 2 of them earned on 4 hits and 1 strike out. But I will give him this, he does a little time to settle in going from college to the minor leagues especially to the low A level which Blake is currently at.

Blake's picked it up in his last couple outings and is starting put up some more respectable stats.

Blake must have really turned things around in A ball as his stats have gone to lackluster to pretty impressive.

Blake finished strongly with the Burlington Bees and has been promoted to the High A Stockton Ports to bolster their pitching staff during the California League championship series. Congrats to Blake.

In Baseball America's draft grades Blake was named with 1st round pick Sonny Gray as having the best fastball of the A's draft pick this past year as well as most intriguing background.

Also it mentioned that Blake will most likely get a chance to start even though he was dominate in relief last season.
