Heemstra has a lot of potential. In high school he was throwing 88-89 with little effort. With some coaching and experience he could be a dominant pitcher with his height in the next couple of years.

The Jackrabbits won the opener, 13-2, then posted a 2-0 shutout in the nitecap to improve to 6-9 overall. UNC dropped to 1-10 on the season.

The Jacks play UNC tomorrow as well, hopefully they can pick up the four game sweep.

Jacks finish the series off and sweep Northern Colorado with a 9-1 win! Now hopefully they can build off of this and continue to build for the rest of the season. Got a lot of season left.

Nice road sweep. UNC used to have some pretty good baseball. But a 1-10 record tells me they are down a bit. But, that's what good teams do is beat teams they should beat.

Can you imagine Heemstra standing 6'9" and coming at you with a 90 mph fastball? That ball has to seem to get their in a real hurry.

The dominance against Northern Colorado is more impressive when you consider that the Huskers needed late inning dramatics to edge Northern Colorado. Huskers went into the 8th trailing 3-1 and got a walkoff single to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
